House Wolfgang
The origins of House Wolfgang were shrouded in mystery. Some say they are descendants from the Clockwork Empire due to their ingenuity and passion in the engineering field, pushing technology to the limit, incorporating both magic and mundane technology into their works, especially in the field of airship engineering. Some say they are a group of treasure hunters who stumbled upon ancient technology. Some say that they have made a deal with an ancient being who blessed them with knowledge in exchange for their services. Others say they are just a group of mercenaries who made up the rumors themselves. Whether they are just rumors no one knows.
Their predecessors found deposits of Dragonshards somewhere near the northern border of Zaichaer. They build a mining camp and began extracting the Dragonshards. Then the Dread Mists came. Even their airships and guns were powerless when their own turned into hideous monstrosities. The survivors manage to escape to the city of Zaichaer only to fight through another horde of those hideous monstrosities and eldritch abominations. House Wolfgang would have been truly lost to history if not for the Order of Reconciliation that turns the tide. Many of the surviving members of House Wolfgang enlisted into Zaichaer’s military.
The older members of House Wolfgang wanted to go back and reclaim their mining camp. Aided by fellow refugees and veterans, they managed to reclaim the mining camp and resume their mining operation. Generations passed, the mining camp developed into a town of around one hundred thousand. Guided by the wisdom of the remaining “Old Guards” of the house, they quickly depleted the mines. The profits were used for developing the town, constructing new airships, producing guns and various steam automata. With their stream of income depleted, they switched to the private military contractor sector, which proves not as luxurious as their previous source of income.
To recoup from it, they began launching expeditions into The Ashlands, The Deadlands, and The Clockwork Wastes. To uncover lost technologies, ancient secrets, Dragonshard mines, and other interesting artifacts.

The Town of Kaiserhausen
Kaiserhausen was once a mining camp located near the northern border of Zaichaer that was built by House Wolfgang. It was abandoned a little while after the Sundering when the Dread Mists came. The survivors fled south to Zaichaer proper. Not long after the Order of Reconciliation was founded and managed to turn the tide, a reclamation effort was launched by the surviving members of House Wolfgang. Aided by both humans and non-humans refugees and veterans alike they manage to reclaim the mining camp and resume their mining operations.
Generations passed and the mining camp developed into a highly urbanized town of around one hundred thousand. Its population consists of sixty percent humans and forty percent non-humans. House Wolfgang utilizes the various Dragonshards mined into the development of the town, which was evident in the various steam contraptions, automata, lightning systems, and other steam engineering products. Some say the town’s architecture could be on par or more luxurious than some of the architecture in the West End, it could be true because House Wolfgang spare no expense when developing the town. The only stark contrast from Zaichaer proper is that non-humans are treated as equals.
Being in the northern part of Zaichaer proper, Kaiserhausen benefits greatly from the open grasslands and Riverlands with its ripe soil that is used for farming. Not only that but also from the many rivers populated with a variety of fish and aquatic organisms that flow down from the Astralar Mountains and the great Lake Udori.
Due to House Wolfgang’s switch to the private military contractor sector and the various expeditions they launched into The Ashlands, The Deadlands, and The Clockwork Wastes the town sees an influx of mercenary companies. As one of the larger and urbanized towns within Zaichaer’s territory and its proximity with the northern borders, a small garrison of Defense Corps soldiers along with a squad of Reconciliators were stationed there. Though the overall safety and order of the town still fall under the responsibility of its founders.
