The letter arrives late searing. Both the letter and ink are of the highest quality, and the envelope is sealed in gold wax impressed with the stylized mark of a coiled serpent.

To Commander Brenner Dornkirk,

I hope that this letter finds you well and in good health. Though I have not had the pleasure of meeting you in person, your reputation and professionals during the events of Glade have reached me through shared acquaintances. I was one of the Prince's advisors during the ill-fated envoy to Zaichaer, and I would like to offer my condolences and sincere apologies to you and your city for the trouble that those under my care may have caused you during our short stay.

I am certain that my letter comes as a surprise to you but be assured I mean no ill will toward Zaichaer or its people. In fact, I have found that in many ways that the values of Zaichaer align with my own, given my occupation within Kalzasi I have both seen and experienced the damage that unrestrained magic can cause. Though the political strain between our two cities may be great, I do not believe that should hamper individual relations, and there is much we can gain from working together in the future.

The tides of the world are shifting, and I fear that those in the courts underestimate the danger that certain events have set in motion. I have plans to visit Zaichaer again in the coming season. If you are willing, I would like to arrange a time for us to meet to discuss in greater detail what it is I am referring to. No doubt you have an inclining, but I cannot say more here. Send a letter to Ale'Epherium in Kalzasi, and I shall receive it. I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Commander Brenner Dornkirk,

To say that Zaichaer has merit would be to do the city a disservice, for what I saw there was a level of order which I could only wish others would adopt. I thank you for your words of condolement, and while I would like to say justice was delivered in response to my grievances I must sadly deny that such ever came to pass. That is the way of things, but it does not need to remain so.

I shall make arrangements to arrive the 2nd of Cinderfall. As it happens having our meeting earlier works best for myself, as I have matters that must be attended later that season. Some of those matters perhaps you could assist me with, but we will discuss such matters when we can meet in person. If I may be so forward Commander, please select the finest restaurant that suits your taste. It would be my honor to treat you to a meal as friends.
