Described as a stone altar around which stand various statues whose faces have long since been worn away by the effects of time. Various elemental and runic symbols are etched upon every square inch of surface over the great stone circle. Carved from an ancient rock of unknown origin and interwoven with gold, silver and jade, the Circle of Wandering is a place well known to the more magically inclined of Kalzasi and the surrounding area.
Scholars estimate that the Circle was built somewhere between the Age of Wonders and the Age of Conquest. What its exact purpose was at the time of its construction is unknown as records from that time period are scarce. Despite this, the more recent history surrounding the Circle is documented in both folklore and current historical records.
It is well known to be a place of aetheric power where the veil between the Material Plane of Acillon and the Outer Realms is thin. Wizards who practice magic within the confines of the Circle find that their powers are amplified to a greater degree than would be normally. This amplification comes at a cost however as due to the thinning of the veil around the Circle, the greater the magical effects that take place within it, the higher the likelihood of drawing the presence of the Dread Mists.
The Circle is most often used by the Circle of Spells in Kalzasi to train and educate the battlemages of the Sky Guard. Initiations that take place within the Circle of Wandering tend to have a higher degree of success than they otherwise would normally. The Circle must either be accessed by climbing the rocky face of the stone pillar at the top of which it rests or through flight.
