Searing 36th, Midday

A few hours earlier, Franky came back into existence, utterly changed. The Gobbler was being cared for by Weston and Mimsy, housing several survivors that had been found in the two days that Franky was in the Dragon King's Court. After assessing the situation, and having a hearty, uplifting breakfast made by Mimsy, Franky set to work planning.

The Jobs Board had all of the fliers removed and was replaced by a large map of the Gobbler that Franky had received once from a local cartographer in exchange for a few days rest in the tavern. Franky had circled the Gobbler, indicating the reach of Lyra's anti-magic defenses. He circled the entrance to the mines, where he knew many people had gone for shelter, but he was not aware of the state it was in. He circled, as well, the warehouses he'd purchased, strategically located throughout the Knob and Grungeworks.

Franky did not have enough information about what state the city was in.

He spoke with a few of the survivors, and knew that the initial blasts had wiped out a large portion of the southeast corner of the Knob, but he needed to know just how badly, and how far out it reached. Franky tasked Weston with continuing to bring in anyone who needed help, and had asked, politely, for Mimsy to continue doing what she was doing. He laid out his initial plan for any who were around to hear it, not hiding any of it. He was going to move through the Bulge, securing buildings as he went, searching for survivors and supplies. He'd mark the doors of buildings head searched with an X carved into it. Those that were intact enough for shelter from monsters or the storm would have the X circled. Those that had supplies in them that hadn't been cleared out yet would have a star in the upper corner of the door. And he'd update the map each time he returned to the Gobbler.

It was midday now, Franky was moving through an old apartment complex. His mouth and nose were covered with a cloth, prevention against the dust and debris in the air that still seemed to have permeated everything after the blasts. He kept his shield in hand, his sword belted. He moved slowly, carefully, for monsters were still out in abundance. Franky himself was protected from the Mists' effects by the Feather kept safe in his smoke box. He'd already found a couple of survivors, dehydrated, their bodies slightly twisted by the Mists and scared, but Franky guided them back to the Gobbler.

This was his second trip out, and he was on the third floor of this apartment building. Clothing and bedding were in abundance, abandoned by those who'd sought shelter elsewhere. He marked each apartment's doorway as he checked them, closing them. Open doorways in places he already checked would be a good alert for him. It was silent as he crept down the hallway to the next door, stopping to bend down and pick up a child's stuffed rabbit. He looked at it, finding it intact, and frowned. It was probably dropped in the rapid escape and the child was likely missing it.

Franky tucked it into the back of his belt, hiked up the sack he was carrying for supplies, and continued onward on his search.
