Sentimental Things
(Ash 86) Wither 28th, 122nd Year, A.o.S.
They had enjoyed a wonderful dinner together at the High Hopes when they left, the sun setting beyond the far off mountains westward from the city's location. Though from the heart of town the light of the sun had only receded from the base of the mountain, the Cloudhaven District still warmly lit in an orange pastel above, as the atmosphere gave way to a lazy afternoon in the late Ash temperature. Telion had worn Rickter's favorite dress out tonight with an overcoat, while the wolf himself had opted for a simple shirt that revealed his biceps.
"So you never found anything at the tower?" The healer inquired with a curious tilt in her head, the wolf quickly smirked at her with a brief glance. He pretty much doted on her before looking ahead, focused on what street junction they were about to cross, with regard to the other locals that strolled by him and his beloved. Talon and Aoren had offered to watch over the twins for the eve, allowing the two new parents some time to unwind for a bit. Honestly, the wolf couldn't wait to be with his boys again, but he also wasn't in a hurry to return to diaper duty either.
"Nah, the funny thing was Talon and Aoren were waiting for me. Teased about how it took so long to get there." He a clear grin beamed across his cheeks, and to see that reaction also generated a smile on the adoring lady's features.
"You just need more practice with Traversion is all." She encouraged with a gentle squeeze at his forearm. "Nothing you won't master in time I'm sure." Her confidence fed him warmth deep down, a warmth he felt shared between his Bondmates, and the feelings they experienced in holding the twins.
"If I ever get past that dumb sickness every time I translocate." He murmured with a soft chuckle to himself, before looking back at his Alpha once more with stride. "Hard to believe where things are now though, really," The blonde giggled a bit to the statement, "it is nice though to finally slow down and appreciate the quiet for now."
"I agree." He could tell she'd been worried about them since their venture into the Warrens last season, and then of course Rickter's recent meeting of the Kensei Swordman Ishin."But what's on your mind, love?" The healer's gaze on him was curious as he looked to have an answer, but no words left his mouth as the thought changed on him. She really had learned when was trying to ease into a topic, the wolf was never really one to beat around the bush, to begin with.
The wolf stopped their walk so that he might face her, and turned his attention to the Cloudhaven District overhead. Up there at the palace his boys were probably being snuggled right now, and he couldn't help but think of how happy those two men felt as well. Overall his life felt fulfilling now, the wolf had everything he could ever want within reach finally. Yet it was always fear of a change that kept him from carrying out such whims. Still... "Alright, can you keep a secret?" He looked to the lady dearly but stoicly also, the blonde's eyebrow elevated before she grinned again with a nod.
"Oh really? Alright, big guy, what's your big secret?" The wolf leaned in close to whisper in her ear, to deliver the hint that would let her catch on. It didn't take but a second for Telion to draw back with a look of surprise, as the wolf grinned in response to the reaction he got to witness.
"No way!"
"I've been helping Talon in our spare time together. You can't say anything though, got it?" Telion bit her lip playfully and nodded, her eyebrows raised yet again as she suspected there to be more. The wolf chuckled. It was probably obvious he had more to say, just wasn't sure how ready he felt to finally put them out there. "And I... Was wondering how you'd feel if... yanno...."
"Wait, you mean... you and me?" Rickter chuckled at her once more and took her hands into his so that they interlocked facing one another.
"Well yeah. You and me, we already feel like a unit, so why not make it official..."
"And what about your loverboys?" She teased with a playful grin up to him, the wolf tilting his head to the side as he doted on her for a moment. "Multiple partners is part of your noble society." Rickter actually had a bit of mirth from that, clearly not expecting the healer to be so down to earth about it.
"So... You're okay with the idea?"
"In Atinaw, clans are centered on family and unity. The marriage laws may differ a little, but really, multiple partners do exist within our culture also. Besides, I know how happy they make you feel. I've already felt like a part of some family here." There was a wholesome smile on her face that brought genuine warmth in Rickter's soul, the equivalence of a tail wag felt rushing down his lower spine as he grinned at her. "If you're suggesting what I think you are Rickter then... yes, I would absolutely love to live that kind of life with you. You just better make it a damn good proposal when the time comes."
"I know. I don't want to get in the way of Talon and Aoren at the moment, they need this more than anything, but after that is when I think I'll finally commit the deed." To pop the question would be a very tremendous step for the wolf, and to do it for three people felt overwhelming enough as it were. Yet these were the ones within his pack that he loved, those who would always have his heart above all else. "Thank you... If it weren't for Hannah I..."
"Probably wouldn't have asked?" Telion cooed with a near wink, stirring another chuckle out of Rickter before she nodded. "Yeah, she's good at that. But Rickter," she squeezed his hands a little tighter now, "don't be afraid to come to me for anything. Okay? I will always be happy to share things with you, and learn how that wonderful mind of yours sees the world."
"You got it, love." He agreed with a lift of her hands to plant a kiss on the back of them, before turning back to bring her in at the side once they continued their stroll. "I will say that I admire, as well as adore, everything about you; you know."
"Flatterer." She accused him with another smirk. "But it's working for you." At that point he couldn't help but chuckle as he planted another affectionate kiss atop her head, the mother held close to her wolf as they both carried on through the Promenade. Before too long the pair made their way back toward the Cloudhaven District, using the town porter instead of the lift to get there, so that they might hurry and return to the palace before too long.
