	Iratallin Veriel's first pact weapon is a katana gifted by her older brothers as a parting gift when she first left Auris to join the Dawnmartyrs. It has been by her side for more than a century and gives the comfort of familiarity like nothing else could. Iratallin is almost always the first weapon the siltori will call upon.
	Dawnstrife Description
	Dolorex A small misericord with a blade dark as night and hilt shimmering like the moonlight. Written all over the weapon are silver runes that shifted and moved in no particular pattern. The dagger is actually her morbus domicillius, storing most of her curses inside it since the pact weapon also acts as an extension of her soul. It serves to take the brunt of Veriel's curserot instead of her own body.

The Anathemus

Laveriel’s Collection of Afflictions

Fundamentals

• Paralysis - Makes the afflicted unable to move for a limited duration of time. An affliction she almost always uses, commonly in combination with other effects. Usually designed to only limit extremity muscles, but can be amplified to paralyze the lungs and heart. Created by consuming curare - the first poison she had ever consumed.
• Dyspnea - Closing the afflicted's airway tighter and tighter until no air will be able to enter the lungs. Drawn from her own experience of being strangled.
• Cephalgia - Specifically induces a sharp headache and disorientation. Taken from her personal experience of suffering a head injury.
• Dolor - Causes the target to suffer various levels of pain in their entire body, from mild discomfort to wholly debilitating. Drawn from her own experience with pain.
• Fracture - Fracture bones based on Laveriel's intent. It can be used to fracture a singular bone or multiple at the same time. Based on her own experience suffering from bone fractures.
• Syncope
• Somnolen
• Stupor
• Gangrene
• Necrosis
• Hemorrhage
• Aether-Eater - Bleeds out the target's aether as time passes. Its strength and duration depend on Laveriel's design. A gift from her affliction mentor, Knight-Captain Damario Amenakar.

Uniques

• Thousand Cuts
  One of Laveriel’s most recognizable afflictions and arguably one of the most gruesome. As its name suggests, the magic will cause hundreds if not thousands of cuts to spontaneously appear all over its victim’s body. These wounds can range from shallow cuts that barely break the skin to muscle-deep lacerations - all based on Laveriel’s design. Laced with anticoagulant properties, the bleeding will be exceptionally severe and deadly. They are also designed to be abnormally painful, her magic amplifying the pain with every passing second.
• Caustic Convulsion
  Drawing upon the lingering effects of the poison, Laveriel can imbue any and all of her Afflictions with an acidic corrosive property that also causes debilitating muscle convulsions. The more concentrated the Affliction, the more terrible these properties until the individual afflicted becomes nothing more than a helpless victim rapidly rotting away as they seize and convulse uncontrollably, much like a marionette dancing on strings.
• Hideous Laughter
  This Affliction elicits laughter in the victim. Laughter that progressively gets more and more hysterical and manic as their muscles tighten. This continues until the individual begins snapping their own bones under the force of their own muscle tension as they perish in a maddeningly sick display of gore made all the more worse by their persistent laughter. Laveriel can choose to reduce or heighten the severity of these effects at will, from simply giving someone uncontrollable and debilitating laughter to merely paralysis all the way to the aforementioned terrible fate.

Relationship with Laveriel

One of the most significant - if not the single most significant relationship in Veriel’s life. She first encountered Endrik Shiryo as a struggling Dawnmartyr Aspirant while he was already a knight. He saw her training by herself at night and offered to teach her. As a result, they met up a few days every week until Veriel was finally chosen to be initiated into Reaving. Not only that, once she was officially knighted, Ryo offered her a spot in his team - which she gladly accepted.

Needless to say, after all that kindness, Laveriel fell head over heels for the avialae. To their friends, her feelings were obvious but no one could quite read Ryo. He had always been warm and kind to everyone, not just her. To the siltori, he didn’t seem that interested so she didn’t push past that boundary. Over the years, they developed a tight-knit relationship, but not of the romantic kind. Sure, there were moments where the tension between them seemed palpable, but neither made any move. They both dated other people and went about their lives.

Things finally shifted when Laveriel went on a mission that turned horribly wrong. The siltori would have been dead if it wasn’t for divine intervention and the emblem she just received. Ryo was the first to arrive at the scene and became the one to carry the unconscious woman back. He stayed by her side for days until she finally came to. The fear of losing her had been insurmountable and he realized what it meant. He laid out his feelings to her and unsurprisingly, Laveriel readily accepted. It was two years later that their core-bond suddenly snapped into place. They became nearly inseparable, both in their daily lives and in battle.

A century went by and the world seemed to stabilize. Laveriel had started talking about the both of them retiring. Ryo was thrilled about the idea and slowly they started planning. They both had always wanted to build a family, but never seriously tried because of the risks of being a dawnmartyr posed. Perhaps if they were safe, Laveriel could really try to conceive. Ryo had always wanted to go Kalzasi, where the Synnekars lived. He imagined that perhaps if they did have an avialae child, that would be the best place to raise him. All he needed to do was finish up his research and then they could leave.

But the Imperium came first. They considered themselves lucky. There were so many lives lost, but after three years they still had each other. Unfortunately, things turned for the worse very quickly. With the Grand-Marshal dead, they needed to make sure that the Imperium didn’t get their hands on Novuril. Despite Laveriel’s protests, she was chosen to take the blade to the north while Ryo stayed behind. The elf would have stubbornly refused if her partner hadn’t reassured her that he would follow her soon. They knew each other’s strengths and abilities, so they should be able to believe that they’ll see each other again, right?

The fates weren’t so kind. Laveriel was forced to watch as he died trying to make sure that she got away.

Eighteen years had passed since his death, but it would be obvious to anyone who knew Laveriel from Ailos that she was still not quite herself. She never spoke about him to anyone, barely ever said his name out loud. All the guilt still haunted and sometimes she still thought about following him into death. Still, the elf tried to shove her grief to the deepest part of herself in an effort to feel remotely normal. It wasn’t time for Laveriel to die yet. Not when his murderer was still walking around this earth.

Life as a Dawnmartyr

It was clear from the start that Endrik Shiryo was an exceptional warrior, even among the dawnmartyrs. As cruel as it was, his training as Kathar gave him an edge over his peers. He would have shone brightly as a warforged, but much to everyone’s surprise, the avialae chose to become a spellforged. He had always been fascinated with magic and to be frank, he had never been allowed the chance to learn about it. Now that he was free, knowledge was what he truly wanted to pursue.

When not on duty, Ryo spent most of his time in the libraries, hunched over some ancient tomes and taking notes with unexpectedly neat handwriting. He wanted to know about everything: the Dread Mists, the Sundering, really anything he could get his hands on. He would volunteer himself for every excursion that was related to retrieving knowledge or artifacts. During missions, the avialae would ask permission for a detour to the nearest ruin, just to see if it held any secret he might uncover.

Naturally, he climbed through the spellforged ranks with ease. His curiosity was often contagious and he would jump at the chance to tell anyone about interesting bits of history he recently found out. While he never refused to go out on missions, Ryo was clearly most comfortable when surrounded by mountains of books and a quill in hand.
