As they walked into the room, she was able to more fully sense his people. Rickter was wise in that he surrounded himself with powerful, talented, and loyal people. It was much the same for her. Whether as mortals or immortals, they would need help and they would need connections to mortality lest they forget entirely what it had meant to them in life. In the patient, she sensed a drop in a bucket compared to what she sensed in Marda Ahtivin—Telion was a Mystic. Kala hoped she could wield her patron's power upon herself. It didn't seem enough to do the heavy lifting or she would have done so by now, but it could prevent secondary infections, and ensure that healing went smoothly. There was only so much a surgeon or a healer could do and the rest was up to the Gods or luck. Ioniri was more dependable than Vhexur.

Kala bowed to the women.

"A pleasure to meet you again, Miss Telion, Miss Hannah. I had come to speak to Lord Rickter about diverse matters and he asked me to help, if possible. I have studied with several surgeons at the Tranquil Gardens and worked there, as well. I've Semblance for diagnostic purposes, but also... what I think might help most... I am proficient in the Way of Flesh and the Way of Remembering."

Her wings had not come with greater stature, much to her dismay, and while a part of her was happy her head was higher than one person's, it might not be helpful for beside manner. She knelt beside the bed, offering a compassionate smile to the maimed woman. The mountain people of her home were different in many subtle, strange ways from those of Kalzasi and she was never sure if she was coming across as off-putting when she meant the opposite.

"You are stable," she declared. "With continued care, you will recover. However, I have a way to regenerate your limbs. It will take time and there will be some unforeseen side-effects, but I can promise you that I will visit regularly to mitigate them. And the side-effects will cease when the treatment is complete. I cannot guarantee they will regenerate exactly as they were, but it will be your body doing the work, so it will be your body. And I will be on hand to help guide the process. But it is your body, and so the choice is up to you. You don't have to make it immediately, and I will answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability."

Already, Kaus was winging himself to the lake to find her some starfish. The aquatic creatures could regenerate more than just limbs. She knew she could fashion and artifact, surgically implant it, and then guide the process. Whatever side-effects would be temporary.

The bedridden healer slowly pulled herself up using her one hand, and though Rickter almost immediately wanted to move to her side, he felt it far better to refrain after the damage he'd already caused her. Regardless of whether he was in control or not, the wolf feared himself greatly after what had happened to his beloved. Telion didn't seem to have too much trouble anyhow, save for just a few soft groans when she rested her shoulders against the pillows of her bed. "Oh." Her tired eyes glanced between Rickter and Kala both, while Hannah shifted to put the disassembled barrel down entirely, and rest a hand in the fold of her lap as she held her head up with the other.

"I appreciate you looking into it." She admitted with a bit of a bleak smile, aware enough of the practices of Necromancy, but clearly not well-versed in the methodologies used in the process.

"So that's the solution now, Wolfman? Magically regrow limbs?" The rogue chided with a hint of snideness in her tone.

"Its not the only solution, just one worth considering..." He ruminated on as Kala knelt beside the bed, inspecting Telion momentarily before sharing her assessment with the room.

"Thank you. I sense you're one of Her disciples also? I've been gradually healing the ice burns away but..." Well being only an Acolyte allowed her to recover so much, and given the severity of where she started, the maimed healer had done just about everything she could for herself. Rickter had desperately wanted to plead and petition Ioniri herself, but Telion would only assure him that such an act might not produce the results he wanted. He hated himself for this, and loathed the fact he even hurt her to begin with, which became increasingly apparent each time the two would talk with one another.

"I swear it would just be easier to give her my damn arm and leg. If Necromancy is involved, then I don't see why-"

"Absolutely not." Hannah's bitter expressed waned when she looked over, Telion's look stern when she eyed the rogue. "I'll not have you short a couple limbs for my sake. Besides..." One hopeful look at Rickter and the wolf's eyes faltered, though, Telion still gave him that same gentle smile she somehow always wore. "I know the treatments won't be easy, but I'll have Lady Leukos here to help."

"It's entirely up to you, love." The wolf gently chimed in, knowing he was only the proxy between them. Far as he could tell though, it seemed like his beloved was already making up her mind.

"I know it'll be a long and difficult recovery," she remarked with her eyes cast down at her left arm and then leg, "but if it allows me to stand on two feet once more, then I shall do everything I can to help." Hopefully it would do more than just that for her, for Rickter still wanted to see the day where she would dance for him.

Where they both would dance together under the stars.

"Just tell me what you need from me, Lady Leukos, and these two will help with the rest." Telion assured the winged healer with a more hopeful look, the warmth of her smile gradually returning as she gazed upon the angel.

"'Twould be an honor to serve Her," she replied with a regretful smile, "but no. I am Avialae, however, and one of my bondsisters is a priestess. Perhaps that is what you sense." When Telion agreed and the others acceded to her will, Kala's smile brightened, although it only warmed her serious mien. "Then you should rest, continue as you have been. My brother is fetching me what I need and I believe we can begin in earnest on the morrow..."

When she returned to the Cintamani Pavilion, her brother had brought back several tiny starfish for her and placed them in a terrarium that looked quite like a tidepool in Lake Udori. This would require several distinct magical disciplines, and so it required her full attention. The starfish died instantly, painlessly, as she pulled all the water out of it with Elementalism, saying a prayer for whatever souls such creatures held within them. The Grimlord had said she was to decide. The Circle of Recalling was scrivened out of her ichor, faintly glowing and pulling gently at the heat of living bodies. With a Needle of Memories, she carved an intricate web of pictographs over the surface of the dessicated starfish, reminding it of its ability to regenerate entire limbs. One she taught about human arms, and one she taught about human legs.

It was delicate, painstaking work, and as soon as she finished the last pictographs, she pricked her finger and touched her living blood to each artifact, watching with her Semblance how the aether crystalized within it, the patterns taking form in deference to her will. Careful of the Law of Equivalent Exchange, she didn't cease her examination until she knew what the cost would be. She laughed when she sussed it out.

Then she cleaned up after her work, had supper, and went early to bed.

The next day she returned to the House of Waves and was shown to Telion. After giving her whatever analgesic and sedative she would accept, Kala got to work. A quick incision at shoulder and hip to insert the tiny runed stars, and then those were sewn closed with sinew thread that would be absorbed as the precise wounds healed, and leave no scarring. Then again, incisions over the scarred wounds to apply marrow gum to the ragged ends of her bones. This, she thought, would help the artifacts and Telion's body provide some of the resources to rebuild.

She was, she hoped, both efficient and comforting through the process. Bedside manner was important, but she often felt as though she was too strange to Kalzasern people to provide much comfort. All the same, these incisions were sewn closed and she provided whatever Telion would take for the pain of healing.

"Your Goddess' grace ought to help prevent infection, but of course I will be checking in on you rather more than you will want to see me." She smiled wearily. Kala had to guide the process, ensuring that the artifacts didn't attempt anything strange as they regrew her limbs. "I hope you aren't allergic to shellfish. You will find that you will have a taste for them over the course of this process." It was the starfish's diet that would come along with the regeneration. That seemed a small price to pay. She only hoped the process didn't require frequent surgeries to ensure the bones and tissues developed properly, but otherwise, the regeneration ought not to be painful.

Only strange.

Kala would explain what to expect to Rickter and to Hannah as well, and to anyone else Telion deigned to know about her medical secrets.

"I will be back tomorrow," she said, that evening and many times after. "If you need me, though. Simply send word and I will come."
