Appearance
On first glance Freya's Dratori heritage is easy to spot, though her skin tone is a much lighter completion more similar to that of a human. Where hytori are more ethereal in their beauty, Frey is more comely with a beauty that seems more grounded in reality. Blonde, almost white hair falls in messy waves down past her shoulders and refuses to be tamed by any brush or product. Her typical choice of clothing is a practical mix of cloak, trousers and boots all made of sturdy material well suited to travel. She often wears a wide brim hat, both to keep her mess of hair in hand as well as to protect her from the sun's rays during travel. All of her possessions tend to come in shades of blue, as Freya herself has a personal preference for the color. Finally comes her dragonborn heritage which, while subtle, shows in her eyes which sparkle a bit too blue and the patches of blue scales on her wrists, arms and neck.

Personality
Externally Freya is contemplative, slow to anger, and careful with her speech and actions. She understands that everything has a consequence, and sometimes the smallest move or the slightest word can shift the tides of destiny. She enjoys laughter and good jokes, drinks a bit too much, and cares more about coin than she probably ought to. Yet she holds to her ideals, and the tenants of her people and her faith.

On the surface she seems collected and unbothered by the world, but internally she is a kind hearted woman. It is not that she is slow to anger, but rather keeps a strong grip on the reins of her emotions at all times. The Dratori in her at times gets the best of Freya, and she acts more harshly than she intends but at those times she tries to make amends when she can. Freya believes that everyone has value not just as parts of the tapestry of fate, but as individuals themselves. She dislikes suffering, but also understands that suffering can have a purpose. It can be used to teach, to learn and understand compassion and generosity, as the kindest souls often are those who have suffered the most. Yet the world has too much suffering, and far too many inflict it on others without thought or care. These people she despises.

She doesn't care for sweets, but likes more bitter flavored chocolates and coffees. She does not smoke, but does enjoy incents from time to time. Finally when possible she earns as much coin as possible, knowing how important money is in this difficult world, but she does not let her greed overshadow her path or interfere with her work to ease the suffering of those around her.

History
Freya was born in the land of Dalquia, in a small village which bordered the Kingdom of Atinaw and Alaris. She grew up with a Dratori woman who she had always believed was her mother, but she did not learn the truth until she came of age. Milana was a kind woman much beloved by the village they lived in. She was one of the few who could read and write, and she would often teach the children of the village when she could. Milana was a healer, a medicine woman and a mystic who studied the stars and used fortunes to help ease the minds and hearts of those around her. That gentle and helpful nature was greatly impressed on Freya as she grew up, and many of her ideals now are reflections of what her adoptive mother believed.

Growing up their village was often caught in the crossfire of war and conflict between the larger nations that surrounded them. Refugees would often pass through, some citizens fleeing the wars of their nations, others soldiers who had abandoned their nations flags. Whoever it was, whatever their background, Milana would provide them with healing and aid before sending them on their way while asking for little in the way of compensation.

As she grew up Freya apprenticed under Milana, learning her craft and aiding her in her work whenever possible. It was Milana which taught Freya alchemy and initiated her in the rune of negation. The medicine woman wove powerful healing magic into her talismans and wards which she would use to protect the village from disease and other affects of the wars around them. It seemed their life would continue on like this forever, until Freya turned 14 and began to show the signs of her true heritage. At first she tried to hide it, uncertain of what was happening as her teeth sharpened and her eyes turned a deeper shade of blue, but there was no way to hide herself forever. Eventually Milana found Freya rubbing dirt to cover the scales which began to spread over her arms, and that was when the truth came out. Milana was not her biological mother, but rather her aunt. Her mother had disappeared from the village when they were barely 17 years old, returning 5 years later with a child she claimed as hers. Unfortunately she later succumbed to an illness and passed before Freya was two years old.

The information did not change much for their relationship. Freya continued to apprentice under Milana until she was 17 herself, and that was when the curiosity got the better of her. After years of questioning Milana finally relented. She told Freya that her mother had traveled West along the coast from Dalquor to Zythura, following the fortune from a seer who had passed through their village on her way to Atinaw. The seer had said there was something among the witches of the bay that Freya's mother would wish for, and as she was the adventurous type she had left without much thought. Milana never learned what it was her sister had wished for, of if she had ever found it in Zythura, but Freya could not let the matter go. So she left, that night under the light of the stars she traveled the same path as her mother heading toward Zythura.

Freya lived in Zythura for more than a decade, having found the witches of the bay who had taken in her moth and become apprenticed one of their covens. She learned many things. How to properly read the stars, the power of fortunetelling, and there her talents for magic and alchemy flourished. She received two more runes from her masters. One was the rune of affliction, a dangerous magic that inflicted curses on others, but she learned it could be used to break those curses as well. She also gained the rune of Summoning, and through it her connection with the wild spirits of the heavens and earth grew stronger. The witches did not speak much on her mother's time with them, but they did say that she eventually fell in love with a man who courted her. After he left she gave birth to Freya, then deciding that it was time to return to her home, despite the coven's warnings that she would not survive the journey.

Freya did not understand why her mother left, and the witches could not say either. So she was once again left wondering, uncertain, and confused. Eventually she too decided it was time to return to her home, but ten years was a long time. By the time she returned Milana had passed away, a patient who fled the wars having killed her in his madness. An unfortunate accident, and one that still weighs heavily on Freya's heart.

With her ties to the village severed, Freya decided to start her own journey, carrying her questions and heartache on her back as she traveled the realms looking for answers to questions she couldn't quite understand herself.

Housing

Freya's Carriage

The Carriage acts as Freya's housing as well as a part of her business, replacing the housing option provided by the migrant starting package. She uses it for both preparing alchemy supplies and talismans using scrivening, as well as storage. It is small enough to be easily pulled by horse, and she rarely allows visitors inside due to the limited space.
