APPEARANCE

Castor is lean and lanky, all collarbones and wrists. His body seems all angles at times, elbows and ribs and shoulders jutting out. His eyes are almond, wide and brown, his lips pink and soft, his nose a gentle slope. His hair is honey, tangled in hyacinth curls.

PERSONALITY

Castor is all want. He’s always grasping for something - or someone. Not that his desire is ever singular or focused. He’s fickle.

HISTORY

For every Castor there is a Pollux.

They were their parents' pride and joy. Bouncing baby boys. Twins. They grew as close as twins will, perfect mirrors to each other. If Castor did something, then Pollux would and whatever Pollux did, Castor did, too.

When Pollux died, Castor felt like dying, too.

Semblance. Supposedly, one of the safer magics. And yet only one of the twins survived their initiation.

His parents withered in their grief. Castor knew humans were fragile - but the Hytori were bright and golden and forever. His father proved him wrong. His father - as gilded as any elf - turned gray and thin and died of a broken heart. His mother was struck mute by the sudden deaths of her son and husband. He watched his home become a lonely house. Castor realized how alone he really was.

He found work. Odd jobs, at first. Collecting lost things or people - he eventually grew to rely on his magic as he once did his brother. Castor learned to move his body with careful ease and grace and then found work gathering information. He’d twist and turn up along roofs and through quiet shadows.

Small things - but things that paid, in the end.

Eventually he took a different name entirely. Green. Alive and Spring and Vibrant. The opposite of a dead brother and a dead father and a mother who hadn’t spoken to him in years. Green like a new life - he hoped.
