Hi, with Jae-Seong's skill debt being paid I'd like to finally have him master the sword technique (ssanggeom) he primarily uses as the skill is core to his character.
In addition to these threads, he's also been training in this technique since childhood.

Hi there!

Can you extrapolate on the sword technique that you're developing? Please and thank you!

Sure thing!

Ssanggeom is an actual sword style originating from Korea. It is a dual sword technique that utilizes constant motion as a way to cover both defense and offense simultaneously. I like it for its inherent speed, grace, and the beauty behind the movements used; when I made Jae, I actually designed the character around this sword technique to begin with because I appreciate it a lot.

examples:

I also want to incorporate the more performative nature of korean sword dancers, ex:

And finally, I like the footwork in some other forms of Korean martial arts and because Jae can utilize Flight, if he is going to strike at a land-based target with anything other than his weapons, it'd be with either leg or foot.

As such, the style is a bit changed on Ransera to reflect that he can incorporate tripping moves and similar things whilst on the ground as well as kicks when he's in the air, which isn't super commonly depicted in the IRL version.

The prose examples of this are actually best found in the recent thread Imogen where they spar.

Oh this is a really neat incorporation of style and I can see how it would apply to a fantasy setting like this very nicely. Full-speed ahead! You may apply Master swordsmanship.
