House Maze is in a partnership with the Kozoku House Edelna, due to the marriage arrangement between Otis and Selene. Aside from them, however, House Maze has managed to attain its share of allies as well as rivals throughout Adira's Promenade. It is ultimately House Senue that they answer to, and House Maze has pledged it's allegiance and service to Senue, with practiced diligence in nurturing that allegiance with the great ruby of Kalzasi.


Symbology
Unlike House Senue where the colors are red and gold, House Maze tends to contrast them entirely only by color. Theirs is a House founded on the colors white and blue, with their sigil that of a wave as it crests over the sea. It is a symbol that honors the roots of the family, from a time where they were roamers of the sea, before their numbers began to dwindle over the century.

History
House Maze first began as pair of sailing merchants that integrated into Kalzasi, obtaining their official Kozoku status within the 101st year of the Age of Steel. By becoming a citizen of the city, Otis and Erikson worked diligently to curry favor, earning much of it from some of the noble houses throughout Adira's Promenade. As new and upcoming merchants within the city, House Maze started small as any other business would, focusing on the fishing trade as well as export trade in turn. In joining the Sailor's Guild, Otis made new contacts over the years, allowing him to expand and in turn start his own merchant company within Kalzasi's port.

However, it wasn't until their rise to the status of Kozoku that another House took interest, making arrangements with Otis that required him to marry one from their House in turn. House Edelna ultimately paved the way for success with House Maze, enabling them to officially buy a warehouse in turn, and establish his own travel and trade negotiations within the surrounding waters near Kalzasi. In return, Selene Edelna married Otis Maze so that the two Houses would continue to flourish, with the brother Erikson still unmarried as he focuses on the continual success of their rising House.

Appearance
While the youngest of three, Otis appears to be by far the most well-aged out of them all. This is perhaps due to the fact that both of his parents were human, regardless, the seasoned merchant is best described as a grizzled man whose dusty brown hair has become peppered with grey and white. It's uncertain as to which genes he inherited from his nuclear parents, but the recurring constant that thematically remains with every Maze is the traditional deep blue eyes. Although Otis' eyes lean toward a more aquamarine hue that has lightened with the passage of time, and the age lines on his face are a sure tell sign of a man getting on in his years.

While he possesses a rather burly frame suggestive of a sailor and a traveler, Otis typically possesses a rather stoic and sometimes even stolid gaze with his posture. While he may not always shoulder his confidence around the gait this man walks with demonstrates resilience and fortitude, a sure tell sign of the wisdom he has gained from years of surviving on both land and sea.

Personality
Otis is a very patient and observant individual who spends his time worrying over matters pertaining to his loved ones, rather than the immediate affairs of the world in which they persist to thrive in. As a businessman who has learned much over the years, he seeks to be the resounding example that both of his brothers had proven to be in their time, if only to conduct himself with a similar sense of honor through his own moral code.

With considerate thoughts pertaining revolving his family in mind, he is always reserved when it comes to his life prior to Kalzasi, and prone to keep those chapters of his past secret at best. Aside from hiding whatever shame or regret he still bears toward history, he remains fixated on the future and whatever goals are in mind. Otis is a man who would rather focus on the obstacles ahead of him, and while he may present himself as utterly pragmatic, he does have a rather poetically hopeful side that very few tend to see.

Biography
As the youngest of three siblings, Otis was born and raised deep in the country of Southern Ailizane where the port city of Tirek resides. At first, he grew up under the sole care of his mother, never knowing who his father was even beyond the day of her passing. Having been provided tutelage throughout his childhood and pubescent years, Otis grew up attending the University of Tirek to develop his skills as a sailor. He sought to build up his career so that one day he would become a merchant, that is until the day he finally met and connected with his siblings from elsewhere in the world.

Having met Callen and Erikson, brothers who only shared lineage through their father, Otis then learned much about the history of his family and where they originated from. This led Otis to venture beyond the waters of the Crystal Sea toward the southern continent of Ecith, where Ailos harbored the fabled Dawnmartyrs of old before the great war to come. It was there he learned of his connection to the Maze ancestral line, and decidedly put his years and experience as a sailor to use.

Appearance
A modest woman who stands at 5'9" in height, Selene bears platinum blonde hair with a near porcelain complexion, hinting at the Siltori heritage that runs throughout her veins. While she may possess icy eyes the color of steel or even silver, she is a lady who carries herself with a sense of grace and elegance. Selene may often appear stern or appraisive but that is just the exterior she exudes with her posture, as she can sometimes present herself in a fairly relaxed or even amicable mood toward others.

Personality
Due to her upbringing, Selene is the type of lady who focuses more on what's important to her and her immediate loved ones. She is fiercely loyal and stoutly determined to look out for the best interest of her family, and has a bit of a shrewd and tactful sense for business and negotiation in turn. She is studious and very observant, ever considerate of the bigger picture or even the long-term sight of things. Given that her goals are typically fixated on the benefit of her immediate family members, she may come across as cold and calculative to many, and even rather a bit manipulative to a degree.

However, she is not without her own faults as Selene grew up the daughter of a businessman, and therefore, has learned to conduct herself in a manner that befits whatever obstacle she is dealing with. While her morality may seem gray in certain aspects, the love she bears for her husband and children is unmistakable. Therefore she is always bound to be involved, be it at the centerfold or in the background, of whatever is going on within the House of Waves.

Biography
Having been born and raised under the Koiteki of House Edelna, Selene has only ever known her allegiances to her family as well as the Greater House of Veyl. Her schooling led to a very focused tutelage on business as well as politics, so that she might one day grow up to marry into a wealthier House. She eventually attended the Circle of Spells to refine her education on the arcane arts, delving into the concepts of Mesmer to further improve her negotiation tactics. It was during her studies that she had one day met the Maze brothers, foreigners who had migrated from beyond the southern borders of Karnor. While she'd studied diligently to continue pleasing her immediate family and their benefactors, she unwittingly grew to fancy one of them until there came a time when they both fell in love.

Seeing that they endeavored to gain citizenship within Kalzasi, she decidedly went to her father to negotiate terms for political marriage on their behalf. While she would undoubtedly revoke her status with House Edelna in the process, the act of her marrying would create a new house that would one day flourish; and hopefully thrive once the business aspect of their lives took off. While she remained a heavily influential benefactor in laying the foundations of what is now the Maze Shipping Company, Selene has also stayed ever so fixated on currying political favor for her own House. What she never did expect, however, was the secrets that the Maze family would grow to harbor; and what Selene herself would have to do to monitor these secrets continually.

Appearance
A handsome young man who inherently takes after his father in terms of look, but bears his mother's eyes and smile when in present company. Max is a strong and hardy fellow with a rich blend of golden brown hair, and ice-blue eyes that can pierce the soul with a single gaze. He doesn't sport the same build of a warrior's frame as his uncle, but has built on a bit of muscle through continuous labor as well as rigorous combat training.

Personality
Maximus is a very personable and friendly soul who tends to be reserved when it comes to his own personal thoughts or feelings. He is a very considerate sort who focuses on taking care of and looking after those he cherishes, and carries within him the traditional values of family that have remained present in Kalzasi. Though not often eager he approaches things with a patient and observant mindset, addressing them with a logical standpoint, though can rarely display anger or irritation to whatever may test his patience.

Rather a bit of a scholar at heart, he invests whatever spare time he may find in academic pursuits, namely whatever helps further his grasp of knowledge that can help further the goals and benefit of his family.

Biography
Max was born with the impression that he was the firstborn within the newly anointed House of Waves, but with the inclusion of Rickter, he has remained ever dedicated to the immediate family he's grown up with. He received a formal education at the Academy of Kalzasi before coming of age, and decidedly sought to follow his father's footsteps in becoming a trading merchant and caravaneer. His primary focus after schooling shifted to studying business as well as travel-related trades, such as sailing and skyfaring, with extracurricular activities focused on refining his social and etiquette skills for future travels.

As a rising member of the Maze family, Maximus has endeavored to become an example for his household and prove himself capable of leadership. His entrepreneurial skills have steadily grown as the years progressed, and time spent working with his father and uncle has allowed him to develop an aptitude for business and politics. Although, he has remained a bit reluctant to engage with Rickter since the older sibling has been considered to become the next head of the House. Tension hasn't necessarily been a prevalent theme between them, but Max has proven reluctant to entrust his past endeavors to the wolf as of yet.

Ramilia is a young woman who stands steadily at an even 5'8" in height, with dark hair and prominent features that had been inherited from her father's genes. She carries a robust frame well developed by athletics and labor, with confidence prominent in her shoulders everywhere she goes. Her keen eyes bear deep and rich brown hues when she observes or scrutinizes with them, and some might even notice how well-worn and calloused her hands are from the days she often spends in her personal workshop.

Personality
Ramilia is best described as a proud and hearty woman who has the potential to act like a proper lady, but instead chooses to pursue her own goals and interests without considerate care or regard to principle. She can get a little bit raucous when it comes to prodding others verbally, as she is prone to tease and jest frequently whenever the opportunity is available. With that in mind, however, she isn't without manner or concern toward others when she interacts with them.

Ramilia is quite frankly a blunt individual who is unafraid to speak her mind, and shows quite the invested penchant for tinkering with projects and artifacts. To a degree, she's fascinated by arcane-related matters, but is also more focused on refining her skills as a potential engineer in Kalzasi.

Biography
Ramilia is thought to be the second, though third after Rickter joined the House, in addition to the Maze family and the House of Waves. She grew up receiving an education from the Academy of Kalzasi, developing an interest in the pursuit of arcane artifacts and smithing. This eventually led her to deviate from learning the family trade the House of Waves has steadily built its small empire on, and instead, she decidedly joined the Circle of Spells to further her knowledge of personal magic as well as world magic.

Rami found the pursuit of Runeforging a fascinating craft to study, and in the process of learning and researching it, she eventually built a workshop within the family home to continue her personal studies and crafts. Although she still has yet to show any interest in the family business, Ramilia has sometimes helped out on the administrative aspect of it, though oftentimes she ends up more focused on personal projects to avoid dealing with her parents. She does, however, still continue to practice and study Runeforging in hopes of helping engineer airships for Kalzasi, inadvertently helping build her father's shipping industry while continually pursuing her own interests.

Born with matching hair they have inherited from their mother, both Kendrick and Isaac are boys who are growing to appear much like their father. Certain features such as their ears and noses take after their mother, Telion, but they have certainly inherited their father's eyes down to the very color and fixture.

Personality
While still young and wily in their second year of growth, both boys have proven to be eager and vibrant pups. Kendrick has proven to be the more vocal and interactive of the pair, however, while Isaac remains the more quiet and observant with the world. They're both at the age where they're eager and curious to explore their surroundings, and while they love to stick close to their parents, they don't seem afraid to interact with other people in their lives.

Biography
As young infants, the twins have had a bit of an interesting, if not a bit hectic, life due to the constant obstacles that their parents have faced. Rickter and Telion both have always looked out for their best interest firsthand, of course, but there have undoubtedly been difficult and trying times that have required the parents to entrust the care of their children to others. With the recent loss and return of memories related to their father, Kendrick and Isaac have proven to be desperately attached to the parental figures in their lives.

Nami No Ie

Situated within the southeastern section of Adira's Promenade, closer towards The Commons and Low-City of Kalzasi, resides the main manor for the growing House. The Tiderunner's Port gets its name from the House Patriarch, also the shipowner of the vessel in question, and the fact that it's where House Maze resides when they're not out at sea. The manor is a large two-story building supported by granite walls, dark oak paneling and support beams, and slate grey tiles used for roofing atop the stylized structure. Surrounding the building is almost an acre's space of land, heavily decorated with a variety of plants both local and exotic to Kalzasi. Within the front region of the courtyard there is also a small pond, clearly manmade, that is filled with several types of fish such as koi and salmon.

Upon entering through the double-wide front doors of the building, there is a small foyer outfitted with a small closet and a wall rack, allowing guests to remove their shoes and hang any coats they've worn moments after entry. Immediately beyond the foyer is the main hall, with a reception area filled with sofas and chairs for gatherings and social visits. There are three doors within this room that lead elsewhere within the manor; one leading towards the West Wing of the home, another towards the East Wing, and then the northern door that allows one to step outside onto a private patio. The Main Hall is heavily decorated with tools and old devices used for sailing, along with a few plants, generating an atmosphere of antiquity for those who visit.

Stepping out onto the patio allows one access to the back areas of the courtyard, where a man-made fire pit built from stones can be found several paces away from the manor. Wooden lounge chairs built for the outdoors are also aligned on the patio, allowing guests who prefer the outdoors a place to enjoy Kalzasi's fair weather in turn. When going into one of the Wings of the manor, the layout nearly remains consistent, with a stairwell found on both sides of the building that will go up and down a level as well. The cellar beneath the manor connects from one stairwell to another, allowing easy travel from one wing to another without having to enter the Main Hall. The stairs leading up to the second floor will lead one up to the private quarters, where members of the House can retreat into their own rooms, so long as the House isn't hosting for guests.

Within the West Wing is where much of the storage is found, as well as the kitchens and washrooms, while the East Wing houses both an elaborate office for study, and a personalized dojo catered to physical workouts and personal training.
