Competency Review: Expert Linguistics

[Kala Leukos]

Kala now has sufficient points to apply for expert-level linguistics.

She was raised bilingual in Common and Synnekar, and when she came to Kalzasi, her education continued at the Academy. Scholarly pursuits led to some study of Vallenor as a scholastic language. Her travels for the ministry of finance have taken her to far-off places like Solunarium and Sol'Valen. An attempt to learn what had happened to Talon and Aoren after their kidnapping took her to Gel'Grandal. And since the bequest of Garel's grimoire, she has been learning the language of dragons as best she is able.

In addition to her fluencies, she is conversational in Draconic, Kathalan, Mythrasi, Vallenor, and Vastian. Per Paragon, by the end of a thread he is currently moderating, she will achieve fluency in Draconic by the end.

So, she has studied languages and philology, and as a master scrivener, she has learned how the language of pictographs inform enchantments. I have tried to play this out as magical linguistics, and it's something I'm working her toward. If she hits the final level of ascendance as a Moritasi, I want to develop a scrivening-based quirk to do with language framing how she understands the world and that framing how she affects aether. So, I will be pushing her toward master-level linguistics, but all in due time.

Prior to the suspension of the Lore system, she had earned 36 in Linguistics, between Expert and Master.
