Subjected To A Calling
Ash 75th, 124th Year, A.o.S.
As he fell down through the air Tailen felt himself slip ever more deeper within, displaced from himself and from the material world he physically remained in. Where his mind went to, wherever it fell within, he felt his consciousness slip and spiral downward into this bottomless pit of a dark and endless void. He was cold earlier when the dive took place but even that escaped him now, as he could only tell that he'd drifted somewhere not of the world he so familiarly knew.
Everything that had happened prior til now... was it all just a part of this? Just an ongoing nightmare that he might wake from? The soreness in his limbs did not fade entirely, but it wasn't so bad now that he felt himself fallen into this strange place. Strange because... the moment his feet touched some solid ground, it felt as though he were standing upon marble or glass for a moment, a bend in his knees allowing him to cushion his gentle landing as he raised his shoulders to their full height once more.
Where exactly had he fallen in this state? He remembered the bridge and Byron but after that...
So much to do, yet so little time...
Strange that he didn't hear but somehow felt this voice inside his head, at least it seemed to resound in the confines of his mind somehow. Who it belonged to though, or what it even meant, those were both questions he didn't have the time to ask apparently.
Take your time.
Tailen felt that a little contradictory to the earlier statement he'd heard, felt rather, but he wasn't going to argue with the notion at least. Not when it provided him a chance to think for a bit.
If you would, step closer to the center of the platform. Can you do it? The boy looked about curiously with uncertainty, a test of movement made with his leg as he feigned a first step. Solid foundation beneath his feet so far... And not so tired as he felt earlier either. Reluctance bred hesitation in his boots but Tailen slowly began his march, approaching the very spot the voice inside beckoned him to reach.
