Ale'Ephirum

Ale'Ephirum is from an ancient dialect of Vallenor. In the common tongue it can be loosely translated several ways, including 'the old ways', 'what was forgotten', and 'what is lost'. The shop is located in the Plaza of Jeweled Arches, down one of the side streets near the center of the plaza. One could almost miss it were it not for the sign that overhangs the street indicating that there is a shop present at the location. The entrance of the shop is nondescript, simple wood of a dark color that matches the buildings around it. The entryway seems cramped and leads straight to a desk where Lyra often sits. The size of the shop is deceiving, for as one turns the sharp corner to the right the shop opens up into an elongated hallway that is lined with shelves. Books, scrolls parchment, and even ink can be found on the shelves, the scrolls often within square slots designed to hold them, and the books only partially organized. Those who wish can browse the shelves, and select books and scrolls to examine using small tables or pedestals along the hallway designed for the purpose.

A set of steps near the desk leads up to the living courters where Lyra has made her home, while a door on the back left wall of the hallway of scrolls leads to the back workshop. A large worktable rests and shelves cover nearly every inch of wall space. Here is a wider collection of parchment and ink types, and this is where Lyra keeps most of her stored supplies for Scrivening. Near the back wall of this workshop is a plain wooden door that opens to a set of finely polished stairs that lead down to Lyra's Personal Lab. This door is protected by a powerful glyph of Lyra's creation, infused with a Mesmer spell (LV3 Mesmer) that makes it difficult to focus on, and quickly forget as soon as you look away. The door is kept locked, and can only be opened with a key which Lyra keeps on her at all times.

Products and Services

When the shop first opened in Ash of 120 AS, Lyra only offered the typical magic wands, scrolls, and inks. She has since expanded her offerings to include not just Grimore as well as certain necromancy reagents, including ichor, basic necromancy tools, and custom works of necromancy. In addition to working as the shop keeper of Ale'Epherium Lyra also provides consulting services to the Circle of Spells, and creates Wands, Staves, and Grimore for their graduating students. Her consulting services also extend to other magical labs, where Lyra will provide her expertise to update the Schema's inside of personal labs, and incorporate certain facets of Artificing to automate simple processes such as lights, heating and other things.

NPC's

Rean

Name: Rean
Skill level: Expert
Core Skills: Scrivening, Book Binding, Semblance

Rean studied at the college in Kalzasi where she focused on writing, history, and calligraphy. Close friends of hers took the path through the Circle of Spells, and through their experiences, Rean picked up many of the basics of pictographs and aether as a whole. After finishing her studies Rean joined the Circle as well where she excelled in the study of scrivening and alchemy. It was during this time she also obtained semblance. Her talents were recognized and it was not long before she was tasked with the upkeep and care for the magical scrolls and tomes of the Circle. It was because of this that Rean learned of Lyra, and sought her out for employment.

From time to time Rean minds the shop itself, but her primary responsibility is in the main workshop. She prepares scrolls, wands, and of course grimoire, as well as other items which are sold at Ale'Epherium. She is available at any time to offer more detailed explanations of how items in the shop work in the event Emma cannot.

Emma

Name: Emma

Emma is from the trade isles out in the seas to the west. For years she captained her own trade vessel and traveled the coasts of Ransera leading a very successful career. Eventually, she shifted her sights and started her own land bases trade business focused in the Free Cities of Karnor, and likely would have continued to be a traveling merchant to this day was it not for an injury that cost her leg. Since the incident Emma settled in Kalzasi, working odd jobs for various guilds and shops before she came across a little shop that she felt had some promise.

Emma's role is broad. She is both Business director and sales associate for the shop, and she provides counsel to Lyra herself on the direction of the business. She is personable, funny and intelligent, possessed of an outstanding ability to connect with anyone on seemingly any subject. Emma runs the main shop and handles all special orders and requests. She is the person one speaks to first before meeting Lyra.
