54th of Frost, 120th Year
After a consistent amount of snowfall blanketing the city of Kalzasi overnight, the denizens of the city awoke to begin their days, with laborers early on the rise to begin shoveling and clearing streets. Some shops opened a little later than usual due to the amount of snow covering the city, with the delays in time hardly a factor of concern for many who owned a business. Activity seemed to lessen during the colder parts of the year, however, Kalzasi was a city that thrived even in the hardest of conditions. A bit of snowfall here and there usually wasn't enough to deter the locals, particularly when the vast majority of them were of the Avialae descent.
The cold conditions aside, however, the day started almost like a regular for any other. So imagine that in a particular place, at a particular time, a courier strolled his way towards one of the taverns. Removing the hood of his green cloak the weary carrier sighed in relief, glad to finally be out of the cold when he stepped through into the lobby. The business in the establishment hadn't quite picked up yet, save for several stragglers that frequented the place, in hopes of getting a hot meal in their bellies before the day began. Truth be told the courier himself wanted to do the same, feeling the need to refill his emptied stomach after walking about for a couple hours already.
But first there was a specific matter of business at hand, for there was particular individual that was sought out here. Hyoga Yoko. Word of his monster hunting skills had started to spread throughout Kalzasi, especially after his participation in the Living Undead phenomenon last season. Yet the reason this particular individual was sought by the courier wasn't because of local wildlife, no, the monsters he would be requested to slay were akin to something different entirely. But first, the letter in which the man would have to read first. Looking for the alleged Kathar with dark blue wings, the courier parted the lengths of his bangs aside, approaching the bar in hopes that he might request information. "Excuse me," the blonde requested from the bartender present, "I've been told that a Hyoga Yoko frequents this establishment?"
Right on queue the bartender widened his eyes, nodding immediately to the inquiry as he looked down the bar, right in direction to the man himself as he enjoyed himself. Whether it was food or drink, the courier would soon interrupt this, approaching with a clearing of his throat as he pulled his parcel up from his side. "I've been looking everywhere for you sir," the courier greeted him in turn as he sorted through the many parchments in his satchel, "got a letter for you from someone here in Kalzasi. A woman, she gave no name though, just the instruction to deliver this to you." In finishing the elaboration he finally fished out a single folded parchment, handing it over to Hyoga with a generous smile in turn. "Well, that's pretty much everything. Have a good day!" With a courteous bow to the Kathar he twisted to move away, walking back towards the part of the bar where the bartender remained, and then taking a seat atop a stool to request that hot meal he desired afterward.
In unfolding the parchment, Hyoga would find this as the content's of the note:

Hyoga,
Word on the street is you come in search of something here in Kalzasi, it just so happens that I've been doing the same as well. I think you and I can help each other out actually, a favor for a favor if you will, but before that I would like to see what you're capable of. I've a friend who knows of a place called the Fighter's Pit, somewhere down in the Low-City of Kalzasi. Put on a good show for me there, and then I'll consider meeting with you in person.
I look forward to the possibility of a partnership between us.
