There was wind in his face as it whistled past his ears, as given the speed he was flying at Hyoga was covering the considerable distance to his destination. The job was simple enough to him, find the raiders that have been assaulting the trade routes in and out of the Udori Port and put an end to them.

The merchant guild that contracted him were skeptical at first, given it was just a single Avialae that answered their request, all bright-eyed and stoke to kill some pirates. But after telling them of his exploits since arriving in the city, they reluctantly gave in and allowed him to handle this for them.

Hyoga had been traveling for what seemed like neverending hours, it was like an endless journey. He couldn't complain though, as this job allowed him to be out near the one thing he loved besides fighting, booze, and more fighting, and that was the open waters. Hyo loved it, and whenever he got the chance to enjoy it he took advantage of it.

Lowering his altitude, he grazed his hand against the water as he listened to the element's voice. With as much water around him, he could hear a calm and easy tone coming from the waves that crashed as he flew by. Part of him wanted to just spend the day wallowing in the body of water, as it was the best way he felt he could relax when basking in the waters.

But that would have to wait as his destination was coming up on the horizon. Pulling up and out of the sight, Hyo surveyed the pirates, taking in what all they had going on. From what he could see from way up on high, they made camp on a beach along the coast the boat they were using for their raids anchored away out of fear of running aground.

"Pathetic." he hissed, seeing them as nothing more rats that needed to be exterminated. Any man that had to steal from others when capable of more was not worthy of breathing the same air as those who worked hard for what they have. All he had to figure out now was how to handle them. He could go in and slaughter them with his spear, it would be easy, like cutting a leaf with a blazing sword.

On the other hand, he could have some fun and use some magic to destroy them and their ship. Yes, that would be the best way to handle this, using his elementalism to dispatch these fools. Now he would have some fun. As the kathar watched the men meander about he got restless and descending from where he had been floating, the flapping of his wings soon coming into the ears of those below causing them to look around.

Still, out of the line of sight of the pirates, he used the confusion and panic to scan over them all, looking for the one person who was the most important. He was tasked with clearing the ship of its inhabitants, but that didnt mean he couldnt take his time in doing so.

There was a burly male near the end of the beach barking orders to everyone, trying to get them as far from these shores as possible. Using his aether, Hyoga called upon the aid of the earth, asking the boulder nearby to react to him. He then moved to float just above him, then went into action.

His hand came to rise into the air, causing the boulder to vibrate as he descended upon the group. Slowly, not to alarm his prey he drew the boulder from where it was lodged into the sand, then called it up on over, smashing the large rock into the burly pirate's skull. The sound of his skull cracking, brain matter splattering, and the thud of his body caught the attention of everyone on the beach, Hyoga having 6 scraggly looking men looking in disbelief and the crushed corpse of the bigger pirate.

His hands covered in aether, Hyoga looked to the crushed male before turning his gaze to the others, the feel of his murderous intent exuding out from him. Stepping over the dead body he looked at them all, inhaling their fear, as the sound of waves crashing along the beach echoed in the background. Stretching his legs he got into a fighting stance, calling two more boulders from their resting place.

it was silent for a moment, but the Kathar was looking for a certain sound, one of movement. The pirates on the beach were scared, seeing how this winged male just descended from the sky and killed one of their officers with relative ease, given it was a sneak attack. The moment one took a step back, sand crushing under his footstep, Hyo dashed right for him sending the boulder forward, and smashing it into his head.

The sounds of bone being crushed into the sands of the beach along with the fearful screams of the pirates sounded the air, and the slaughtering began. Hyo rushed in, gliding between the first two, using the same two boulders to smash them into the ground. The sound of meat and flesh being grounded into the sand was enough to send chills down a normal man's spine, and these pirates were no exception.

As he crushed with the two that he brought to the ground with the boulders, one attacked from behind and sensing the malice from the attack he sent a blast of wind with his wing to knock the pirate off his feet. Coming to stand over the man Hyo called forth another boulder nearby, raising his hand upward as the large rock floated over, then bringing it down with a flick of his wrist, crushing the man's skull into the sand.

Three down three more to go, and then he could move on to sink their ship. "Who's next, who's ready to meet Wraeden?" he questioned calling up several of the boulders he had used already, blood & sand dripping from the fresh kills. Slowly he began to walk towards them, the boulders floating around him like sharks.

Once he was 10 feet in front of one he lunged at him, appearing at his left side. As he slid to a quick stop he pivoted to turn so he was facing behind him, slamming the first boulder into the back of the man's neck, forcing him into the sand with enough force to snap the man's spinal cord. "One" he mused menacingly as he charged the others.

The last two of the pirates on the beach charged at him as well which he used one of the boulders to deflect the blade of the first one, and pounced on the other, smashing his face upon landing on top of him in the sand. Blood and other organic matter splashed onto Hyo's clothing. The other came in for an attack and Hyo rolled out the way, just enough to catch the raider from behind, bashing the boulder into his skull.

"Two and three" he counted as attention now turned to the boat. He would have to sink that ship to ensure the route would be safe again, as he could hear the pirates scrambling to react. Had they been more than a disorganized mob of rabble, Hyo would have been in trouble, but these were just filthy thieves.

He wasn't sure how to bring ruin to the boat, but the elements had an idea. The voice of the earth called to him, tell him to "shape" it. Hyo didn't really know what to make of it, but he could feel the element pulling at him to try. With a sigh, Hyo called forth the boulders he used to crush the pirates on the beach and attempted to mold something out of the floating stones.

He began to fashion some of a spear from the four boulders he was using, but instead, it became something more of a large shard of stone. He couldn't believe his eyes at what he was doing, watching the boulders come together meshing against one another till the form came into view. With an excited smirk, Hyo sent the large shard rocketing towards the pirate's boat.

As it reached the ship, Hyo maneuvered it up above the ship, the pirates looking on in disbelief, some even abandoning the ship, as Hyo motioned downward, causing the spike of stone to plummet into the boat. In one clean shot, the stone spike dug its way through the ship, creating a large hole, as it began to take on water.

All that was left to do was pick off the stragglers, and report a job well done to the merchant.

Hyoga

Lores
Elementalism: Crushing skulls with boulders
Elementalism: Sculpting Stone into a new form
Elementalism: Stone Spike
Elementalism: The Voice of the Earth
Flight: Hovering above prey
Tactics: Planning the best way to deal with rogues

Loot: +100 gp
Injuries: N/A

Points 5, can be used for Elementalism

Comments: While I do enjoy the action, be sure you keep an eye on your skill level and ensure Hyoga is playing within what is appropriate for him. You were vague on the size of the ship, but I question that an apprentice Elementalist could sink a ship of any significant size with that level of ease. Bear in mind his highest skill level is Journeyman currently. I would like to see more of the struggle from him in future threads as he gains true mastery over his skills.

Beyond that loved the story! Let me know if you have any questions!

Question your Reality,
