Description:A tasty black berry that is in fact not a berry at all. These black fruits are in fact a fungus that infects many sap bearing trees in the Zaichaer area. Their flavor is described as a citrus tinted syrup. Very rich the Lahnmos berry has made its way into may recipes in Zaichaer and makes for a potent if incredibly sweet wine. It is not uncommon to see the odd urchin of Zaichaer with their tongue and lips dyed black from gorging on these berries when they are in season.
Notable Abilities: When the sugar is extracted from the midnight juices of the Lahnmos it becomes clear until sugar water is added back to it. These berries pulse subtly in the presence of magic and grow more green and tart after absorbing it.
Reproduction The fungus seems to be carried by local insects that bore into trees. the sap that bleeds out from the wounded tree is infected with the Fungal Lahnmos. From then on that wound in the tree will produce Lahnmos fruit from spring to fall.
Size the berries are shaped similarly to grapes.
