Another question stemmed from Nnerka as the spider-woman asked him of his job, inquiring specifically as to what other reason brought him onto Madame Lunaria's very doorstep. The wolf's eyebrows furrowed at the question when he heard it, his eyes faltering as he recollected that very day in particular. Glancing back up at the spider-like woman though, he couldn't help but shrug with a shake of his head as a response. "It's personal," he remarked in turn before turning to nod for Tony to give him one more, after all, one last cold drink before resuming the work wouldn't hurt. "besides it doesn't change the fact she took an interest in me. From the moment we met, she'd eyed me the same way she does with any of her new assets."

It was all the more true as he'd seen it time and time again, when some new hire came with aspirations of wanting to work here, there were often those times when she might look upon them with utter annoyance. But for the ones she personally liked in some way, now those were the ones she took a warm liking to. Then again Rickter in general had a bit of history with the woman, long before he even knew who she was or even when she called the cabaret her own. With the arrival of his last drink he took another drag off the joint he'd puffed on, exhaling out from his bottom lip so that the smoke traveled outward in a rising manner. Apparently, the sort of clientele Nnerka attracted ranged, from the ones who were curious to those with specific desires and requests.

Admittedly he couldn't help but relate a bit, able to gently chuckle when she gave her final remark. "Some people like weird shit I guess." He figuratively surmised with a shrug of his shoulders, taking the glass that Tony sat down casually so that he started to sip from it once again. "Makes all the ones I have seem normal, even if they all want me to handle them differently." He almost wanted to say luckily into that last bit there, thinking over how frequently somebody wanted him to get rough or be 'ever so gentle' when he got started. Yet it all amounted to the wild, passionate outcomes that sometimes led him to even nip a bit, taking full assertive control over those who paid for his own business. Not that he'd complain about it at all though, not when Lunaria often relayed to him the positive reviews he'd need to hear later.

He watched as the dancers moved on stage to form a cluster, their bodies swaying in unison as they moved to the groove of the band, before breaking out with feathered fans and a peacock-dressed dancer came twirling on the stage. As she strut her way toward the front of the stage, a rambunctious spectator whistled loudly before leaning over the edge, hopeful to get a closer look at her as his hands rose. Immediately one of the bouncers nearby started to move, but before he arrived, the dancer lifted a pointed foot as her toes went forth; essentially kicking the spectator off the stage to be escorted out of the premises. The wolf couldn't help but laugh at that bit, the crowd roaring and whistling as the dancer nonchalantly went about her routine. "I'll admit this place never fails to entertain."

Expressing this he took the last drag from his joint, exhaling it the moment after he'd inhaled, to release the puff of smoke he had before drinking down the rest of his whiskey. With a sigh he lowered the emptied glass back down, one last look spared to Nnerka once he did just that. "Suppose it's time I get back to work. It's been... interesting getting to know you Nnerka." He admittedly firmly but respectively, sparing a nod to Tony as well, before the wolf removed himself from the bar to walk his way back toward the west wing.

Personal — what could be personal with a job like this? A profession that feigned intimacy and mixed personal affairs with business for the clients and those who were unlucky enough to feel something they oughtn’t. The spider was still curious, but she figured he ought to have this. To keep that “personal” thing personal, even if she didn’t fully get what would be personal about approaching a woman in a cabaret. The only thing that bugged her was that it didn’t feel like he was telling the whole truth. He could have just let the matter go, rather than tyring to push the agenda that he was treated like everyone else.

Nnerka had not been treated as if she were everyone else. As he put it — some people like weird shit. Weird shit being her. Her nose wrinkled at the phrasing, a sip of her own drink taken as her fingers danced over the countertop in contemplation. “Weird shit, indeed.” She’d let it slide; he probably hadn’t meant it that way. Or maybe he had, but not with those words. She followed his line of sight to the stage, watched the proceedings play out. “Never a dull night here.”

She sighed, not quite wistful. Not tired, either. Bored, maybe. Rickter was losing his edge of being interesting, even if she was still curious about somethings surrounding him. Just — in the moment she couldn’t care. Across from them, a young man watched the fae. He wrung his hands, smoothed them down his trousers before she turned her gaze upon him fully and he froze like a deer caught in a lamplight. His cheeks heated first splotchy patterns that carried over his face, traveled down his neck. His ears were redder than her drink by the time it had fully spread and he fumbled with his own. His attempt at seeming calm was dashed as a hand slapped him on the back, and she knew it was time to get back to work.

“As should I. See around.” Her voice carried that musical cadence as she waved off the wolf, smile small. There would plenty of opportunity to pick his brain a bit more later on. The man stumbled toward her, tripped over his own words. Her smile widened as she turned toward him, head tipping to the side as she beckoned closer. Just another patron interested in “weird shit”.
