Talon blinked as suddenly Lyra was in his face. The aura glasses were brought out and he could just feel her peering at his aura. Suddenly he felt very self-conscious. A fact that was reflected in the sudden fluffing of the feathers of his wings. Her hands upon his body made him jerk back in surprise as she touched him, not just upon his but beneath it. Cool fingers brushing over his chest was a very intrusive sensation that he only welcomed from a very select few individuals. He rose swiftly from his seat, wings flaring slightly both in surprise and defensiveness. Talon gently but firmly removed Lyra’s hands from his body and took a step back so as to be able to put a bit of space between them.
“Ale’fira, I understand your excitement but please, a little warning is appreciated.” Too many battles had ingrained in Talon a hesitancy when it came to being touched by people he did not implicitly trust. He enjoyed Lyra’s company but he did not know her well enough to include her in that circle. Too much time spent being an object of careful scrutiny and purposeful grooming had made him slow to even welcome the idea of being touched or exposed to anyone but the absolute closest in his emotional circle. There was also the very recent attack on his life that, when he least expected it, reared its head as a reminder that there were people out there who wanted to see him dead.
Talon smoothed his shirt. He let his wings fold back into place before letting out a slow breath. Having sensed his sudden startling and shift in mood, Aoren again reached out across their bond. He did the equivalent of mentally linking their fingers together. Across his melodies the exchange of thought would see a harmonizing of two different symphonies. The music remained distinct to the individual but came together as easily as an orchestra falling into sync. The rhythms of both Talon and Aoren were in near perfect harmony with each other. Through the avenue provided to her via her Rune of the Mesmer, it was plain to see that Aoren’s symphonies were intricately threaded throughout the whole of Talon’s being, flowing alongside his. There was a second presence as well, one not as deeply in tune with Talon’s own music but it was there.
Rickter. His presence was woven into the young Novalys being. The melodies of the Rathari wolf were not as prominent as that of Aoren’s but they were noticeable.
“To answer your question, Avialae can form a bond with any who are willing. As long as they are intelligent enough. We cannot form bonds with common animals and the like. I do not know the reason why.”
