Kala had enough training that she could critique things out of proportion with how well she could do them herself, but all the same, she watched with a sort of bittersweet understanding that her own training and natural talent were enough that she could have thrown everything aside and joined the corps de ballet of the Pfenning Theater with this one and they might be friends and co-artists. But that was not her lot in life, so she only smiled and clapped appreciatively when the dance came to an end. There was something about watching dance accompanied only by the sounds of breath, the clack of pointe shoes against the sprung floorboards, and the gentle susurration of skin against clothes. She too could hear the music in her head.
"Lovely," she declared it. "Perhaps when you are next in Kalzasi we could take a meeting with Master Hansom the artistic director and see about a sponsorship for whatever part of a season you spend in Kalzasi." She had some leeway here with the Leukos zaibatsu funds, and while they didn't owe their allegiance to Great House Zatrian, they did patronize the arts and intellectual pursuits.
"Although," she said, pausing, "I don't know if you would get into any sort of trouble back home for being patronized by an Avialae house. I only have wings when I dance, but my brothers are more obvious fliers."
From what she understood, things hadn't gone well for their Shinsei in Zaichaer. That didn't mean that the common people hated the Avialae, of course, but she didn't know and she didn't want her attempts to do good to get twisted around to harm people either. She turned a curious eye on Carina, assuming she would know how best to navigate the dangerous waters of her home and its politics.
