Aurin's lack of explanation didn't register to Torin. Aurin said it wasn't a demon, so it wasn't.
"Maybe it's a sprite that got bound to this place. If the one who owned it died without releasing it from the contract he might still be stuck..." He only knew rudimentary things about summoning, but the idea made sense in his head. Perhaps Sivan could release it, or even take it into his own service. Torin had grown up in a place where some people didn't believe in ghosts at all and others blamed them for every little misfortune or strange occurrence. Hearing Aurin speak of them in such a sure tone raised the hair on Torin's arms and the back of his neck.
"Do ghosts make it this cold like this? I don't know if it's this cold outside even." He wrapped his arms around himself until Aurin replaced them with his own. The warmth and closeness, so familiar now, so needed, calmed nerves jumbled out of place by the suddenness of his waking. Shaking his head at the idea of Aurin going upstairs he said,
"No, stay. Let's go back to sleep, but let's get the blankets and make a little bed before the fire?" He stayed where he was for a long moment, pressing his face into Aurin's shoulder and letting his smell relax the tension from his body. When they did break apart they worked in tandem, laying out blankets on the rug, until there were plenty to crawl under together. There were pillows too, which Torin placed so they would be laid out with the lengths of their bodies facing the fire. Pulling the covers back Torin laid down, holding his hand out to Aurin until they were close, with the blankets up to their chins, side by side, facing each other.
"Aurin..." Torin blushed, knowing it was probably foolish of him considering there was probably a ghost watching. His want was strong enough, after even the few days he'd been gone, and what they'd already done, that he frankly did not care unless it hovered directly over them making comments. "Could we... I'm still," He hesitated as several words he couldn't say came into his head before substituting, "Ready. If you want... I want you."
Pressing his strong young body as close as he could get it, throwing his upper leg over the redhead's hip so there would be no confusion as to what he was asking for, Torin leaned close and kissed him. Even if he said no, they could sleep close, and that was enough. They had space and time now, whenever they wanted it.
