Kala drank, too. She was more practiced at slipping in and out of her body with the ghostwine's help, so she held off long enough to be sure Torin's body didn't crumple in such a way as to hit his head or otherwise harm him, then quickly joined him. They weren't exactly whole like this, but they were still essentially themselves. That begged the question of what constituted a person, and she had read many different ideas on the subject. But that was an intellectual pursuit for another time.
The silver lady reached out to hold his hand and help him up, or that was how their thoughtforms projected what she was doing. Through Semblance, they could both sense the silvery cord that would tether their souls together temporarily. And then she spoke to him, although, of course, she didn't have access to her mouth so her mind was sending thoughts to him and it felt like speaking and hearing. There was a vague similarity between this and how she communicated silently with Kaus, but it was not quite the same.
"It will only last about half an hour, so when I say to return to your body, you must do so. It is like climbing into your warm bed, I find. If you find yourself overwhelmed, you might want to turn off your Rune. You won't sense as much, but your senses in this form will focus."
She smiled and gave his "hand" a squeeze. When he seemed as acclimated as he was going to get, she called toward the wall.
"Hello," she said softly, gently. "I have returned. Will you join me? I want to introduce you to a friend."
There was no telling if the ghost would respond. Sometimes she didn't. But whenever she did, she seemed to be more complete, more a person. At first, her identity seemed to have blurred, but conversing with Kala helped sharpen the lines. With luck, conversing with Torin would help even more, and then they could find out what she wanted, what she needed, who she was, and how she got here.
And what to do.
