Toward the comment about senators of more rotund figures, Æros chuckled. Such a thing would never be a problem for him and it was a little difficult to empathize with the plight of having to watch one's diet. It served also as yet another reason he found his Fæ heritage to be a boon– thus elevating him and his kin above the rest. Every time the subject crossed his mind, however, he couldn't help but wonder what it'd be like to meet with other Fæ. To his knowledge, he really hadn't.
Khy's interest in how his form shifting worked was spirited; he spoke with a sort of energized wonder that only continued to feed Æros' ego regarding the subject.
"I believe mass plays a part in one way or another, though I am not entirely sure about the exact biomechanics and magic at play, to be honest. From what I know, we Fæ are touched by magic from another plane entirely…and as such, there isn't much to compare it to." He spoke in a way almost musing. The topic was something he often wondered about, too. "What I can say is that I cannot add or remove pieces of me as well as certain unique traits. Take, for example, my horns and my stars– I can't remove them at all, not that I would ever want to. I can only alter the horns in terms of color and shape, whereas my stars I can't do much with at all. They just..are. In a similar manner, I've never been able to grow additional limbs, much as I think having four arms would be useful." Pausing for a second to spend in rumination, "...but despite that, I can still shift my height around…although, I've never been able to make myself exceptionally large or small, so I think there's maybe…limitations regarding my own aether? And as far as I'm aware, I can only manipulate my own body." From his personal experience, these were his limits…should there be anything else, he'd yet to figure it out. "Does that answer your question…?"
Watching the boy in his arms shift and try to mute his reactions only served to feed Æros' desire to continue to touch him. That combination of pleasure and nerves on his features was so incredibly adorable and thus, he continued to trace his hand over his lover's figure, focus drifting down to the muscles just below his ribs. With no ribcage for structure, this part of the body was often considered vulnerable no matter how taut one's musculature was. Æros liked the softness flesh always maintained, regardless of fitness.
On the subject of employment, "Yes, I'm a dancer. While I certainly don't need the money," incorrect, "...I do it because I'm fond of being on stage, truthfully. I am a performer at heart." The latter sentiment was true; he did feel this way, and the entire thing could be true if he wasn't so…indulgent.
Æros was aware that many others of his caste found the idea of labor to be…below them, and while some types definitely would be, artists and performers still loved to ply their trades even if it was entirely unnecessary. Doing so was usually done either for ego or passion, though some could pull in substantial amounts of money to fuel a particularly greedy personality if desired.
Lifting his hand from Khy's chest, Æros gently framed the other's face, placing two of his fingers against his jaw while the other two rested on the soft skin of his throat.
"My, so attentive, you are…" words delivered with soft affection, voice shifting to something more seductive.
As he spoke, he slid his hand along his lover's jaw, down to his chin, and then gently traced his thumb over the smooth texture of his lower lip.
"Coming across such a pliant lover really was lucky, then." Though he still spoke with affection, he grinned with an expression veering more towards familiar mischief.
Having kept his hand where it was, Æros appeared pleased at the returned gesture when Khy ran the back of his hand over his face. The half-elf responded to the touch by tilting his head into it, as if to cherish the moment.
Before regarding his lover's words, Æros drew his hand down, fingertips gently sliding over the center of the other's throat and coming to a pause at the divot above his sternum.
"Perhaps, indeed…"
The elf maintained his expression, though he did feel the familiar twisting of anxiety from this request.
In theory, he could, provided an agreement was made between him and Khy’s master. However, current circumstances were not exactly conducive to such a process going…smoothly, so to speak. Unless something changed, Æros would have to keep the idea held aloft, just out of reach.
"...having you serve me is certainly tempting, yes. Though that is more a conversation I'd have to have with your current master and it is also something I'll need more time to consider the merits of."
In addition to the fact that facilitating this suggestion would be difficult at the moment, Æros was also just…nervous toward the idea of having the other work underneath him. He was afraid of how his own emotions would progress should the two of them exist in such frequent and close proximity.

"Fascinating..." Khyan grinned. He supposed it made sense that he should remain so enraptured. He never tired of staring at the stars in the sky, why should he tire of those he'd found here in the Umbrium? They were much rarer and more precious here. Exceptional.
"I didn't realise that... I hope you won't be offended if I confess that I thought you'd conjured your own constellations. At least after I knew what you were and what you were capable of doing. I certainly wouldn't blame you, if you'd applied them by design." As he spoke, he traced little lines with the tip of his index finger along the celestial body before him. He was drawing his own patterns, though those native to the Fæ before him were too restless to have true constellations of their own. They were always on the move, as if they were afraid to settle in place. His idle mind wondered whether their canvas was so volatile. He'd warned, within minutes of meeting Khyan, that his attentions were fleeting. Perhaps Khyan should be satisfied that they'd been cast his way this long and leave it at that. But he wasn't.
"Yes..." He might have sounded a bit crestfallen, although Eros had done nothing to elicit that reaction. He was just fighting battles in his own head. For now, at least, his sorrows came as single spies.
"A dancer!" That lit him right back up. He didn't even need to subsequent qualifier. Dancing was something one did for fun, and something one did at court. To make a career of it did not perforce betoken anything necessarily vulgar amongst the upper echelons of Solunarian society.
"Oh, of course you are, Starlight. Yours was a form built to be gazed upon!" Khyan had certainly become a quite the stargazer of late. "I'm certain you're enchanting to watch. I hope I can see you perform, some day..." He felt like he was getting overeager again. Speaking too many thoughts that ought to have remained just that. Had he always been so bad at this game, or had he merely brooked lesser opponents until now? Or maybe it was that his current situation amplified his emotions and made everything more extreme. That wasn't fun to dwell upon, though, and so he didn't.
"Pliant..." Khyan repeated, his voice a whisper. He didn't wish to move his lips overmuch, whilst Eros attentions were upon them. "Submissive..." He added, calling back to the designation Eros had applied earlier in their conversation. "Are these the things you fancy about me?" It was a vulnerable question and a loaded one for Khyan. He hadn't always relished of those aspects of himself. Some partners brought them out more than others, and Eros' Aura had responded to those traits in such a way that had caused the slave to dig his heels into that role. Was it his nature, though? He knew the world saw his features and placed him into certain categories, but was he inherently submissive or had he changed to suit the expectations of others? In the end, he supposed, if he'd been so malleable then he was indeed submissive.
"Oh..." Khyan blushed, instantly feeling he'd overstepped. He tensed, shifting slightly in Eros' lap so he was sitting upright and no longer lounging so lazily. "Of course, no. I didn't mean to imply you should-... Well, not right away, or... You know." Gulp. "At all. It's... It's really whatever you want, Dominus. I'm... Well, you know." Would he, though? Khyan barely knew himself what he was on about at this point. He was just embarrassed at having made such a brazen proposal and scrambling to backpedal.

“Mm, I can see why you’d imagine it a choice– had I not been born with something like them, I’d likely have sought a way to acquire such a defining feature,” he spoke softly, an expression of subtle pleasure drawing itself across his face as Khy traced a finger over his skin.
Æros’ expression brightened in turn when the man in his arms responded to the revelation that his job was more of a hobby than anything else. Well…it should have been, and that’s how he wanted it to be perceived in this scenario, regardless. “So I am told…I have many admirers, especially within the places I perform. A shame that in the time I’ve been working you’ve likely been sequestered away within your master’s house,” he spoke with a tone somewhat forlorn while the gaze that fell upon Khy was one of affection. “I’d be happy to let you know when I perform, if you’d like.”
In these moments, he’d flattened his palm against his lover’s chest again and slid it down over the other’s sternum, stopping over his stomach with fingertips tracing over the contours of his abdominals. To Æros’ admissions of finding pleasure in his submission, Khy seemed…to question this? He spoke as if he wanted the half-elf to look upon him with a more complex lens, perhaps. At first, he didn’t understand why, but looking at the boy’s face and the vulnerable look in his eyes…he realized the point of the question.
His breath caught. It’s not as if those were the only two things he liked, not at all, but did he want to admit to more than that? Doing so would share just a little bit of that vulnerability of his own that he had no desire to show another. In doing so, he’d be admitting to the threads of attachment that had formed, a concept which terrified him, since he didn’t want to have ties to another like that. Sure, they already existed, but they’d be harder to ignore if he spoke his intentions aloud.
“I’ll…” he cut off, lips slightly parted and tongue pressed to his palate, as if he didn’t know what to say. “...I see more than that in you; it’s more complex than that…” he trailed off, refusing to further extrapolate his feelings. And okay, maybe that wasn’t the smoothest answer, but he was fighting between the urge to just lie and say Khy was nothing more than a sex toy to him versus the terrifying concept of actually telling the truth here and that was the awkward middleground he managed to find.
Luckily, the other man couldn’t help but speak his thoughts, distracting the moment away from how he felt and allowing him to redirect the spotlight back towards Khy’s emotions. Immense relief flowed through him, his expression softening as he lifted the concept of taking the other as his own just out of reach. In doing so, Khy’s anxiety spiked and he squirmed in the Fæ’s lap. Of course, he understood the draw of proposing such an idea on the surface…but the other understood not the true nature of Æros and his circumstances. And…he planned to keep it that way. At least, for now.
Nonetheless, he wasn’t bothered by the mere suggestion of such a thing. And not wanting to leave the smaller man languishing in his anxiety, Æros lifted the hand from Khy’s stomach and placed it against the boy’s face, thumb resting just in front of his ear while his other fingers curled around the back. Holding his head steady, the half-elf leaned in to kiss him, to silence his stuttering.
This one was slow, one could even describe it as romantic. This was the quickest way he could think of to shut him up while simultaneously being something he just enjoyed doing. If he succeeded in distracting Khy away from the subject, then it was a win in two ways. Æros adored his lover’s taste…he could get lost in his the other's body so very easily.
And when he pulled away, he briefly leaned back, grabbed the glass he’d nearly forgotten about and downed the rest of its contents. This was…straight alcohol, and it wasn’t something subtle either. Disgusting, maybe, but he definitely wanted to blunt the edge that talking about emotions in any form had. Drinking it made him wince, but oh well.

"I think it's better that you didn't need to do that." Khyan offered, with an appreciative sigh to punctuate his thought.
"Mm." He grinned at the notion of attending one of Eros' performances. It would be thrilling to watch the Fæ about his work but, perhaps more so, it would also be gripping to watch others enraptured by Eros. It would have been so enticing to observe, though only up to a certain point. Khyan certainly didn't want others to see their desires realised, he only wanted to see them pine for what he had already claimed for his own. That was the sort of wealth to which he'd grown accustomed, and the sort it would be most difficult to condition him away from wanting.
"Yes, please do let me know..." He trailed off.
He could see that his question about Eros' perception of him set the Fæ's head to spinning. He didn't want to cheat and use his Semblance to get a better read- even if it would have had the potential to assuage his fears. It might also have exacerbated them. Truth was funny that way, and so despite of his talent for unearthing it, he often preferred to dwell in the dark of ignorance that mundane, magickless folk enjoyed.
At least Eros hadn't ceased to gently caress him. It was a lifeline and a safety net to ground him as he trod toward precarious ground for both of them. He risked putting labels to things that had been ambiguous. Mystique was a big part of this, he suspected, for both of them. Khyan may have come off guileless, after a fashion, but some of that was calculating, too. He could manipulate himself to manipulate someone else. Convince himself something was true to be more convincing in telling another. Part of him knew he'd been doing that with Eros, though he couldn't have named an instance if pressed. These weren't conscious things, they were merely his means of leading from the back. This very conversation- this very question was a feint of his.
And then a kiss punctuated Eros' answer. That would be enough, for now.
"It isn't..." He smiled weakly, "...important, Dominus." His eyes followed Eros' hand to the glass, and he watched him drink.
"I'm probably just too sober." His eyes trailed from the Fæ's cup over to the bar. He'd have loved a drink, but he hadn't any money. He probably could have asked it of Cetus, but his all too indulgent master was generous enough without giving his slave a drinking allowance. Khyan was too proud to ask that of him, and too proud to ask it of Eros as well. No matter. His novel lover would be intoxicating enough- even if the side effects of this particular spirit trended toward self-doubt every now and again.
"I wonder..." He looked back up to Eros with a smile, "If I ever regain my freedom, I probably won't ever be a patrician again. Perhaps I might make a go of being a dancer, as well. Unlike you, of course, I'd very much need the profit, but..." He shrugged, "Perhaps I flatter myself that I have a modicum of your talent just because I pick up court dances quickly and I'm not an absolute troll to look upon."

Æros loved the attention being a performer afforded him. It made his life down here easy, at least, relatively compared to many of the others he came across. Though his family had tried to punish him by effectively cutting him off, he still had the benefit of the social power afforded to him both by his blood and their name. On top of that, he was a spectacle to behold, stealing hearts with simple looks sometimes. And in doing so, many of the people that ended up spellbound paid for a good chunk of his vices, which let him use what wages he made from performing on whatever he wanted. Having such luxury as he spiraled was a double edged sword. While it afforded him comfort, it also enabled him. He, realistically, saw no reason to stop or slow down. On his end, he didn’t care, but should anyone else? It would be painful to watch.
“I will perform at the same place we met in the coming days, as well as another venue, but I will have to check the times…they’re written down but, ah, at home,” he spoke with a soft laugh. Things like this were…not really easy for him to keep track of at the moment.
The Færie wasn’t daft; he could tell from the other man’s weak expression that his answer…wasn’t one that satisfied him. There wasn’t much he could really do about that at the moment, much as he wanted to. Though he would pretend it wasn’t the case, Æros was not born without the ability to feel deeply. He just, ah…had no idea what to do with his emotions and didn’t really understand how attachments were supposed to work in a healthy way and thus, he shunned them. And for now, he didn’t want to push Khy away, but that was his reflex– he didn’t know how to do anything else.
Regarding his sobriety, Æros scoffed. “Oh, you could’ve said something about that, love. You can go order anything, if you’d like. Just say to put it on my tab and get me a duplicate, too…not as if the barkeep hasn’t noticed you sitting on me all this time,” sentiment punctuated with laughter.
It would be hard for anyone who worked here not to, really, given the fact that the establishment was dimly lit and Æros was his own, if subtle, source of light. Hard not to notice him and therefore hard not to notice his company.
His expression sweetened at Khy’s musings. He wouldn’t mind working alongside him.
“Not a bad idea if you’ve got the skill for it. You’re definitely pretty enough to look at, there’s just the pesky matter of that collar of yours…”

Khyan seemed to be feeling his oats again, now there there was a bit of space since the awkward ranting that had been filled with constant physical affection and a bit of verbal encouragement.
"Well, I shall have to check my very busy dance card, but somehow I suspect I might be able to find a moment to slip away and see you..." Khyan offered, with a wry grin. "You can just let me know the times later." He smirked to himself, as he slipped in that tacit presumption that he would be invited back to Eros' home where he could access his itinerary.
Now Khyan's doe eyes were being put on for show. The last few times he'd employed that technique, it had been in earnest, but at the offer of free booze he knitted his brow and demurred- His body language shifting toward the apologetic.
"Oh, I... Well, I didn't mean you should buy my drinks, Dominus, I was only trying to excuse the weird tenour of my focus this evening." He didn't even pause a full beat before continuing: "But if it wouldn't be any bother, I wouldn't mind a drink and, well... Obviously I haven't any coin, these days." He wrinkled his nose, again apologetic, and slid off his lap.
"Oh, no- I was talking about something to do if I were to regain my freedom... Though I suppose it wouldn't hurt me to practise in the meanwhile. Perhaps you might be persuaded to be my pædagogus? Hold that thought..." Khyan sauntered off to the barkeep.
He ordered a round of whatever Eros had been having before, but also a pitcher of wine to chase it. Wine would last longer and he wasn't eager to quit his lover's lap very often during their time together. With the cups of hard liquor in his left hand, he grabbed the handle of the pitcher with his right. They could recycle the cups, he figured, for the wine once the liquor was down. Or even drink straight from the pitcher, for all Khyan cared, he was just glad to have spirits in hand.
"Is this an audition to see how I'd serve you outside the bedroom?" He couldn't help himself, though he regretted the reiteration of his earlier, overbold suggestion. He placed the drinks down and reassumed his position on Eros.

Æros found himself growing fond of the way Khy acted when confident. As cute as he was when he was tripping over his words or a mess of Æros' making, the man was also very charming, playful and the Færie found his mannerisms sweet and endearing.
Leaning over, he placed a soft kiss against the other's neck. "I'd already intended to do so," words not more than a murmur.
It would've been naïve to assume Æros didn't want to steal Khy away for the evening again.
When the half-elf pulled his head back, he saw his lover wearing a much more demure look, sweet and coquettish. Æros smiled, and while his face was largely affectionate, the echoes of something more predatory lurked within his gaze.
"You needn't worry– I've money to spare." He spoke in a way that was both playful and reassuring.
This was actually true, though not for the reasons he had set up Khy to think. Given the fact that he was granted so many things for free by both simple fans and those he'd manipulated, he did have surplus funds of his own. It was of little risk for him at the moment to pay for both of their alcohol, and he maintained a laissez-faire attitude about his spending to further push the idea that he still had access to his family's opulence.
Æros looked up at him with an amused yet satyric expression when he stood, eyes of gold drifting over his figure with little attempt made to conceal this fact. Khy really was a pretty thing, possessing features of both elegance and beauty as well as a boyish sort of cuteness.
Upon his lover's return, the words he spoke drew a rather broad smirk across blue lips and resulted in an exhalation akin to the start of laughter. As Khy sat back down, his own arms wrapped around the boy and he found his hand once again wandering the other's figure as he spoke.
"Maybe, you'd be a very cute servant if nothing else," he said, words spoken as something of a playful taunt.
Æros leaned forward and gently kissed his partner before reaching over and taking a sip from one of the glasses. He did wonder how used to stronger alcohol Khy was. Even though the elf was, the burn in one's throat is an omnipresent nuisance and while this one was smooth it was…very pure.
Putting the glass back down, "...but if you do genuinely want to, I'd be happy to offer guidance regarding dance."

Khyan was very conscious that Eros might be watching him on his trek over to the bar, and his deportment displayed that. His saunter was a bit more sultry, the tableaus he made when leaning over the bar to order, and then waiting for the barkeep to pour, were all very deliberate. Stylised, like a bit of theatre, and ever aware of the way the fabric of his tunic fell and where. He may not have been as tall as Eros, but he was slender and lithe with long legs that dimpled at the thigh, when he beveled them just so. His return trip was no less purposeful, though his dark eyes didn't dance up to Eros' until he'd drawn up to him.
Back to the present moment, Khyan grinned at Eros' reply as he settled back against him.
"I'm not sure I'd be tall enough in an Elven household, but I might make for a good footman. I've got a steady hand and as far as I could ever tell the bulk of their job is standing around looking dashing." It was indeed true that many households took pride in the beauty of their staff. This was, after all, Solunarium, so staff was a statement. The servi who remained in the scullery might be absolute Orks to look upon, but those who served in the dining room tended to be more, well... appetising.
Khyan leaned over to the table to pick up the other cup, sniffing at the contents. He'd just told the barman two of whatever Eros was drinking, but hadn't bothered to inquire what that might be. The aroma was familiar. He'd been an adolescent in school not so long ago, after all, so his forays into alcohol were extensive and diverse. He wouldn't have described the bouquet as appealing, per se, but it certainly smelled clean. Eager to catch up to Eros a bit, he took the drink as a wince-inducing shot.
"Blegh." He let out involuntarily, as he stuck his tongue out and his fangs protruded unbidden. He shook it off, retracted his serpentine teeth and leaned forward to replace the contents of the cup with wine, which he immediately sipped to chase the caustic taste from his mouth.
"Corpus Aværys! That's one of those concoctions that makes the veins in your neck sting, isn't it? What are you drinking, mate, Scorpion's Kiss?"

And of course, he stared as the other made his trip to the bar and back. Thoughts of all the things he wanted to do to his lover swam through his head as the familiar warmth of the spirits flowed through him from what he’d just drank. It was times like these where he lamented not having any magic or skills that could heal, and such a shame, that was…
In the little interim where the two were apart, Æros took a moment to pop a few pills into his mouth– he wasn’t sure if Khy would judge him, in truth, but at this point it was somewhat reflexive to take them when company had their backs turned. He also didn't want the other man to grow concerned regarding his...treatment of himself.
To the other’s comment upon his return, he smirked a bit. “You might not actually be that tall when compared to elves, but your body is built with enough elegance that I think you’d get a pass…”Æros punctuated this thought by running his hand down the length of his lover’s torso.
It was somewhat of a surprise to watch Khy take the whole glass as a shot; that was something heavier drinkers tended to do as it was…easy to overstep your bounds doing that. Not that he would be particularly annoyed should his current company end up a little sloppy. He laughed just a bit at his reaction– he clearly wasn’t expecting it to have that much of a bite.
“That would be it, yes. I like things…strong. Gets me to where I want to be quickly and I don’t have to sit and drink a ton of it,” and while this is true, lighter beverages tended to do fuck all for him.
“With your preference for finer things, I wouldn’t expect it to be something you’d fancy…but it gets the job done, does it not?” The question was a little bit of a playful taunt, though he was curious about the other’s alcohol preferences in general.

Khyan pursed his lips. He'd never been under the impression that he was particularly short, but he knew he wasn't exactly a Tertian colossus. Still and all, the comment about his elegance was nice to hear. Besides, he'd gleaned that it was one of those dynamics Eros appreciated. When he'd glimpsed at his Aura, he'd noted that might be part and parcel to the power differential in which he took such relish. Khyan rather enjoyed it himself. It was comforting to be enveloped, in a basic, primal way. And he felt properly nestled, once he'd poured his wine and was leaning back against Eros and his provisional throne.
"I can appreciate that." Khyan grinned, swirling his wine. "I went through a phase when I was a bit younger where I would drink anything I could get my hands on. The party tended to end quite early, when I drank this sort of thing." He cracked a cheeky grin, "This... oh so elegant form of mine is terribly susceptible to hard liquor. I don't shirk a blackout night, mind you, but passing out before sundown simply won't do." He tilted his head,
"Sitting and drinking a ton of it, as you say, is part of the fun for me. I don't think I'd be able to keep up with you if I drank those all evening." He winked, "But it's a splendid way for me to play catch-up to your evening prior to my arrival, hm?" With that, he sighed contentedly and let his head cheek rest on the crook between Eros' neck and shoulder. The hand not holding his glass rose to sift through the waterfall of platinum that was his hair.
"So, what's the first dance you'll teach me, as I embark upon my career on the stage, pray tell?"
