“It is, isn’t it?” Hilana smiled at him. “It’s just layering the benefits of the different plants, along with making sure that it tastes nice. Honey always helps, especially when one likes sweets as you and I do. Most of those are all good on their own... but one or two are really just for flavour, but that’s okay. They don’t hurt, they just complement it. Medicine does go down nicer when it tastes better, and since it was a tea to begin with, well,” the girl’s energy was still calm, but she was definitely cheerful. While she was still very focused on him and her confidence hadn’t wavered, he could tell through her Symphony that she was satisfied and pleased with how his body was reacting to treatment. That was likely reassuring to him, too. The girl hadn’t had any doubts; she just wanted her friend to be kept comfortable in the meantime. Ideally, everything would return to relative normalcy for him before noon, he would be able to get some deep rest and sleep, and be ready for when Khyan would return later on that night.
“I brought cookies over for you to enjoy... and that blackberry pie I promised,” he could at least hear her smile since he couldn’t see it. “It’s wrapped up on the counter for you for when you feel up to eating it, but for now, cookies. They’re easier. I hope you like raisins, Dominus. The tea should be cool enough for you now, too... I’ll be right back,” she touched his shoulder reassuringly, and her steps were light again despite the hardwood floors as she left him with Tiaz to return to the kitchen.
She did take a peek around in finding things - cups and plates - and it was impossible to ignore the alcohol cabinet with its glass front. Hilana stared. That... that was powerful stuff. But he had said Fae absorbed things at a different rate, so that might be why. Still, she had a look at the contents of some of the bottles, and she shook her head. Perusing the cupboards found no real supplies of food. There were teas, which she was glad of, because at least he was getting some extra nutrients in, but food... There was even less in the refrigerator. She bit her lips. Perhaps... Perhaps this was part of why he said he was so stalled, magically, with Masquerade. These were classic signs, combined with part of what he had told her in the Greenhouses...
Well. The stubborn child of the Sands had herself yet another new project, and this one she was going to see through, too.
Hilana poured the fragrant tea into the cup, adding a little bit of milk and honey to it since he had mentioned preferring it when it was creamier, before giving it a careful stir. She put four of the substantial oatmeal-raisin cookies on a plate, and carried them and the tea back into his bedroom. “Here we are, Dominus. Oatmeal-raisin cookies with some nice spices in them. They’re thick and chewy, which is my favourite way to eat them, and loaded down with raisins,” the girl was bright. No, she was going to get food into him, one way or another, as she took her seat beside the bed. The tea was cool enough for him to drink without scalding himself, so that was what she held up for him first. “This is the tea that’s been steeping. This one has the tulsi in it, along with rosehips and rose petals, strawberries, apple, and hibiscus. I put a bit of milk and honey in it, since you mentioned liking your tea that way.” The cookies were next, and she broke off pieces for him rather than trying to hold a cookie that was larger than her hand up for the Fae. But she didn’t push him, just let him go at his own pace.
“That one patient of mine, Titus, the one with the Vastian guard that teaches Reaving, was in the other day with one of his students. I asked him about what was needed to learn, and he said that a student would need to have a good hand with the weapon that he wanted to bind with... so while I am not about to get that one, since Elementalism is important first, then maybe Semblance... I’d really need to pick up the maces again and practice. When I was little, the older boys taught us how to use blades and clubs, and...” Hilana was off to the races with the amusing story about what happened back then when they were learning and she lost her mace and how it went flying... And if he fell asleep during it, that was the whole point. Æros needed to rest, and with that tea, and some nice, warmly spiced cookies and food in his belly, that would hopefully lend itself to a good, decent rest.
