"That must be difficult," Hilana ruminated on the consequences about feeding. "To gauge how much you need. It isn't something that can be stockpiled, is it? It won't recover on its own like aether?" The Vastiana took a bite of her food. "And it's harder to get at, especially here, since you can't really feed on anyone local... and your companion that you mentioned certainly can't recover blood that quickly. Even with ample concoctions from herbalism and alchemy, it's still a massive ask on the body."
As she finished her own food, she listened to Dreyfus' explanation regarding what that had felt like, to be exposed to such a thing, and she was certain of one thing: she would not have liked it. "Were you already a vitalisi when you made that foray?" Hilana was curious. "How long ago was this?"
His words gave her much to think about. Most of these names Hilana was largely unfamiliar with, but it would be something to try to learn about. Her family had connections to the world beyond Solunarium simply through her father's vision in terms of merchandising, and her great-aunt might be able to put the order in for those books on the topic. Or she could just ask around at the docks. She was not about to be branded an heretic for this; but she listened solemnly, committing the names he gave her to memory. The Gods had walked amongst them before, ruled them
At the mention of the name 'Arcas', though, the girl's eyes widened and she glanced around her to make sure that others were not listening. "You must not mention that name here. Dreaded 'Arcas' is the enemy of this Kingdom, the sworn foe of our Founders," there was an urgency to her voice, concern. She did not want him to draw further attention to himself, not considering he had already received a formal warning from the Vigilia Argenti. "Is he in the Imperium? Gel'Grandal? Or is he coming here and that is why you are here?" the Vastiana's head tilted, trying to make sense of all of this. Was something going to happen here? That was worrisome indeed; though she had faith in the Golden Guard and the Sentinels. But a foreign Prince was now Arcas reborn? That was wholly unexpected.
She was certainly learning a great deal from the foreigner, and what she was taking in were details she had never, ever expected to come across in all of her life.
