"Better," he assured her definitively. Aurin still went into Skyforge from time to time. While he was no runeforger himself, he had spent enough time perusing the auras of such creations that he considered himself a connoisseur. Were he a different person, he might just have retired and lived on Torin's wealth. The runeforging business paid ridiculously well, and his noble patrons had even given him land. But Aurin wasn't one to be a kept man; he had his jobs, and they allowed him to do what he did best: dig up dirt.
The fox-faced man nodded along with Carina's explanations.
"Oh, sure. I make sure the theater's books are pristine. Portions for Foxes', too. I can get creative, but nothing's made up from whole cloth. The level of auditing they would have to do to find anything questionable..." He shook his head, words drying up due to the intoxicants - and being weary from the long-haul leap from Kalzasi. "And anyway, what they would find would just be... creative... not illegal." He shrugged. "It's a game."

"Oh, sure. I helped get some witches out, and some Pfenning folk. Others made it to Kalzasi on their own. Mostly common folk, though. Anyone with a lot to lose... I think they stuck with the flying islands or came here... or followed one of the armies. Just had to make the right introductions for people, though... Thankfully, people blamed the Dornkirks because they were highly visible at the party... Anyway... Yeah... Kalzasi's weird, man..."
Even having lived there for several years, it often boggled his mind.
