Torin was saying the words, but they weren't for him. They settled inside him as rain on parched leaves, but he was not saying them to heal himself.

Aurin didn't cry, the smith wasn't sure his man could cry. The storm never leaked out around the edges, but it was moving through him. When he was given permission, a safety he needed to be given as much as the redhead needed to have the right to refuse him, he didn't fall to his knees. He might have, if this had been for him, but it wasn't.

A lot had been happening inside the man Torin had settled his devotion onto, inside and out, of late. His boy did not know all of it, and, in many cases, he only knew because he caught stray thoughts accidentally as they were drifting to sleep, or because he felt a difference. The first time Aurin had gone to Zaichaer, before, and then during the disaster that had ruined the nation and brought The Whispers to Torin's yard, something had changed. It hadn't been the trauma of the event, chaos was something too well-bred into the Bronze Fox to be phased by such. No, it had been something before, something to do with his connection to the Covens. Torin hadn't been sure, but he'd thought it might have been something good, a connection, or more than one, that helped ground the man who never stopped moving. It hadn't slowed him, if anything, the new rune that had come with whatever else had happened seemed to energize him. He traveled more now, but he always came home. In fact, due to the abilities Traversion gave him, Aurin ended up in Torin's bed slightly more often. Even in the middle of a long trip, he could appear in the smith's bed long enough to sleep, or other things.

The second time Aurin had returned from the shattered city there had been trauma there, fresh like the scent of blood in the air. There was a new wound that had partly healed into a new scar by the time Torin had seen him again. The trip had not been a long one, it did not seem as though there should have been time to gentle and soothe the type of damage that the smith's Semblance told him had been endured but he had no explanation for that.

He wanted to ask, he'd been too afraid that it might cause wounds to reopen, or old instincts to kick in to defend themselves. Aurin attacking him, verbally or otherwise, in a knee-jerk reaction to something that hurt wouldn't break them, not anymore, but it would hurt. The master more so than the servant and Torin did not see any reason to risk it. Their relationship was, as it always had been, evolving. This was mostly at Aurin's direction and with his intention, but smaller things were shifting as well, finding new places they might fit together as they both grew and changed. Torin could not describe, even to himself, what the things that were slowly, gently adjusting themselves into new configurations were, but he could feel how the confidence that his mentor had been intentionally fostering inside him was affecting his being as a whole, changing him.

So, when he was given permission to touch, even after Aurin had stood still and acknowledged his boy's love, that boy didn't seek the comfort of his master. Instead, he stepped forward, wrapped his burly arms around his man and held them to each other, chest to chest. They were both men who had grown up in the shadow of their fathers' hatred, and it had broken them. But they didn't have to be strong alone, they could support each other. They didn't need to talk about it, it could just be.

Leaning half his weight into his lover's care he lifted half of Aurin's, pressed his face into the shoulder below it and murmured,

"Take me to bed."

Whatever Aurin had intended, he was now gently crushed in Torin's embrace. It felt safe in those strong, capable arms, brimming with youthful vigor and honest-to-Gods love. He knew that he gave Torin what Torin wanted, what he needed, and that he made Torin happy. All the same, there was a niggling voice in the back of his mind that still maintained that he was bad for the blond wunderkind, that his corrupting sort of love would curse those he claimed to love, drive them away, or drive them to dire straits. He knew Torin's mind more deeply than Torin knew his own, at least insofar as sembling tricks could read minds, but he rather thought Torin knew him better due to some bone-deep wisdom that Aurin just couldn't match.

"I love you," he managed into Torin's neck. "And sometimes... when I make you cry, it's so you can cry for me... because I can't. Thank you for that, boy."

The ginger felt himself stiffening once more, and while he knew his reserves were charged and the artillery - as it were - was ready to fire again, he wondered if sometimes he didn't fuck the ones he loved because the physical intimacy was easier, and the violent passion of it swept rational questions and criticisms aside, often forgotten afterward.

At Torin's bidding, he vaulted them into Torin's bedroom, allowing just enough momentum for him to tumble the burlier man into his bed. There might be more fucking before they slept, or if one or the other woke up needful at any point, but for now, he squirmed until he could hold Torin in a way he knew made Torin feel safe and loved.

"I'm going to start sharing more with you, boy... Secrets. Goals. We're... partners now."

He kissed a golden temple.

"Will you sleep...?" There was a lilt, a tiny bit of humor at the end of his question, as if he would wear him out if necessary, but a part of him just wanted to lie awake for a while with the gentle bellows of Torin's breath lulling him to follow into Nod.

"I know. I want to." Torin answered, so quietly, quietly enough that it was allowed, and, a little louder, "I love all of you, with my whole self. I need you for me."

Then in the secret whisper again, "And for you."

It felt right, and so, so good to love Aurin because Aurin needed it. Loving Aurin because Torin needed to love him felt amazing, but in a totally different way.

The vault might have been jarring, for he was not yet used to it from the few times Aurin had pulled him along thus so far, but the smith felt so secure wrapped together as they were that the move and then falling onto his bed only made him huff a sound that might have been a laugh had the moment not been so potent already.

Once they were arranged the next words that his master spoke took the air right out of him. Not literally, but it was a little time before all the emotions swelling in him -everything from fear that he might fail to live up to what was being offered to a joy so free it was almost a fear in itself- allowed him room to speak.

"I'd like that." Came out at last, "When you would."

He tried to be of help to his man whenever he could, but often his help was based on guesses or things that would be obvious to anyone with a passing acquaintance with the fox nesting in his arms.

"If you'll let me ride you, I will." Came the answer, and while it still held a shade of the shyness around talking about sex that had always been the case with Torin, there was a boldness there too, a confidence in them, if less so in himself. Sometimes, often, talking about things that made Aurin feel vulnerable caused the older man to withdraw and while his boy understood the why behind that it still often ached. He wanted the reassurance that this time his man wouldn't disappear for a day or more, that they were strong and steady being as they were.

Adjusting until he was able to pull out of his shirt and wiggle out of the rest of his clothing he looked down at his lover from his knees and added, blushing but firm,

"If you thrust up into me while I do it, I'll sleep like a babe."

Once upon a time, he had hoped that Arry was the one who would help him be the man he pretended to be, but more and more, it seemed as though that person was Torin Kilvin. He didn't blame Arry—parts of him still ached for the little brat who felt so fiercely underneath all his affectations that Aurin wondered how he hadn't sucked his soul right out of him with an almighty flex of his internal muscles. When Torin admitted he would like more of what Aurin's body could provide, he smirked, but hazel eyes gleamed in the low light.

"You fucking slut," he said, but what he really meant was I need you. Please don't leave me.

Somehow, Torin understood, perhaps without even being cognizant of it. For all the weakness Aurin had copped to, Torin still looked at him as though he had hung the stars in the firmament and offered Eikaen sage advice in the ordering of the world.

The "Bronze Fox" shifted under Torin as the smith shifted over him. They moved like they were dancing anymore.

"Can't sleep without a bit of the cock, eh?" he challenged. You are amazing. I am not worthy. He let out a sigh as Torin straddled him. "Wet as a whore's cunt." I am complete.

A pair of murderer's hands caught Torin by the neck, by the hair, and pulled him down so his liar's tongue could claim an honest mouth. When he came up for air, he gasped.

They did beautiful, debased things. There was sweat, there was blood, and there were tears. He tried to destroy Torin, but his boy only enjoyed it. That was how he knew this was some fucked up gift from the Dragon God of Fate. For all that was broken and poisonous within him, Torin was the balm and Torin was immune. They quenched their passions and their thoughts in one another, and eventually, they slept.
