The Naming felt in Torin like he'd been struck as a bell. As if he had suddenly realized that he fundamentally was a bell only because Kala had caused him to sound. All he could do was stare at her dumbly for a long moment as the sublime in her that had been peeking out slowly subsided until she appeared to be no more than she had been on the day the two had met.

When he felt as though his insides had stopped vibrating to her call he came back to himself and cleared his throat, closed the box that he had still been holding and then stood. Having a small task to perform allowed him to settle back into being himself, so that, by the time she took his arm in hers, he was able to return her smile. Even laugh quietly at her suggestion, nodding,

"It would, yes." There would be no magical enhancement to the strength of the blow but Kala was surprisingly strong for her size and could hold her own with her brothers at times.

Her cheek was warm against his arm and it felt comfortable, not awkward between them even if what had passed left them both feeling a little less than sure-footed.

"Making them was," He had been going to say 'a pleasure' which was true, for some of it, but he changed his mind mid-sentence and replaced it with, "An honor."

He nodded at the suggestion that he give the remaining pair, and their explanation, to Kaus himself. They were technically still his to give, even though Kala would be able to retract them at any point she chose thereafter.

"If he is cooking anything with all the leftovers remaining I might consider scolding him."

Despite being technically the master to Timon's apprentice he hadn't ever used his position to chastise the boy, not having found a need or not having felt it was his right. There was a smell of hot food wafting up the stairs, however, so the likelihood that the young chef was at least reheating the remnants of the feast of the day before was high.

we keep on churning and the lights inside the house turn on
and in our native language, we are chanting ancient songs
and when we quiet down, the house chants on without us
