Freya shook her head at Indric.

"You do not need to thank me." She said with a smile down at the spirit working on her wagon, "I would do it again if the opportunity arises."

She too noticed when Indric flickered and she followed after him as he returned to Kala's side. She eyed Lucius where he sat still staring at Kala. He seemed calmer, if not any less guarded, but that was to be expected. He in turn watched Indric as he approached and frowned at him.

"On my honor as an Imperial Guard, I give you my word to escort this one to her next destination." He spoke to Kala while nodding at Freya, "She will arrive safe."

Then he hesitated before saying, "I will remember your request, and so long as the Emperor does not will their death, I will give what aid I can."

As he said the words his face tightened into a grimace, the collar around his neck giving off a faint ember of power that quickly faded. It was not enough that most would notice, but perhaps Kala would. Fast as it came his expression cleared and Lucius looked away, having said his peace.

Freya gave them a moment of silence, but turned to Kala before she vanished and smiled as she extended a hand to take Asteri back onto her shoulder.

"I will pray to you when we arrive at the next town. Do not worry."

Indric was pleased to have their strange, kind-hearted friend within the bounds of the Imperium that bound his Kathar cousins. The sense of awe that had grown up within him where Kala was concerned was not predicated on her quest to free them, but it did his heart good to know that she—and, by extension, Mother Naori—had their people in mind.

While Kala treated with Lucius, he continued to study the slipspace. If need be, he could bring Kala back here immediately, but he was also continuing to study how her wagon altered the slipspace around it. Between that and Kala's masterful Sembling, knowing Freya and Asteri as she did on an aetheric level, he was fairly certain that he could open a portal to wherever Freya traveled, prayer or no prayer to guide his starry mistress.

"Then I can rest assured that she is in capable hands," she said, then smiled at Freya, and back to the man, "as you are in capable hands with her. Thank you."

She rose then, nodding to Freya's assertion. Taking the dragonborn seer's hands, she spoke directly to her mind.

I fear he will report back to the powers that be of my existence and that our association will endanger you. If the time for that revelation is upon us, then so be it, we did good and may be repaid in... unkind... He hasn't promised your safety beyond the next village, so be careful. I will extricate you from the Imperium if possible should you be endangered. But keep this; it may help you.

She and Indric faded abruptly as she poured her divine power through her elemental rune. Her absence left a sort of afterimage as if they had looked too long into the sun. Her gift, glittering in Freya's hands, was a rare star shard.
