“Ah. That was not amongst the destinations to which I travelled…” Rhydian noted, sounding like he might have found that almost regrettable based on Akantha’s news about it.

“I aim to please.” Rhydian replied dryly, upon hearing that his selection served the princess’ personal interests in fashion even as it served his own aversion to breaking the routines that kept him feeling grounded.

He arched a brow, appreciating the subtle acknowledgement of his personal preferences and peccadilloes, even if he wasn’t entirely confident that her interpretation of their cohort aligned precisely with his own. Her circles were wider and her perspective on these matters was a far cry from Rhydian’s. Still he displayed no sign of those concerns and his rational mind was acutely aware that they were not worries of any particular gravity. He would come round to whatever was presented. He always did. Almost.

The question about invitations drew him out of his head and back into the present garden.

“Hm? Oh, no. No. Invite whoever you like. Within reason.” She’d already addressed his primary preference and she knew well enough to invite Karrhei and his other friends. There were few enough in his orbit it was quite simple to keep track of their number.

To Rhydian this was a duty, so his personal preferences were rather restricted to keeping it as manageable and tranquil as possible to ease the execution of those responsibilities.

“So, about this tailor you mentioned… Do you think you will have time to break away from the preparations long enough to make an introduction? I’m actually leaving for Aerion anon, so today would be best unless he isn’t opposed to providing overnight services…”

"I daresay that the opportunity will arise. They've invited the majority of our winged contingent there to train, and Lady Kala did extend an invitation to me to visit if I had a mind to do so." Which did suggest that Akantha may have actually enjoyed the company of this Lady Kala, because she was not one to entertain such things otherwise outside of Sol'Valen. People came to Silfanore, or otherwise to Sol'Valen, and she had little problems visiting the other cities of their Kingdom - her maternal family's city of Vallanar was a home away from home for her; many were the times she had been to Norsavan, his family's Aerion, and Inokova. She had been to temples and coasts and around there... but leaving? She had never seriously contemplated it. Even if by some freak chance some fashion designer outside of it became popular, they were more likely to receive a letter inviting them to visit rather than the Princess of Thorns going there.

Truly, the world was changing.

She chuckled at his comment about aiming to please, and lightly nudged his shoulder with her own bare one, looking on at the garden. He often did. But within reason, of course, with the invitations. It was already going to be a much smaller affair than she might have held otherwise, but it was for Rhydian, after all, and he was a good friend. Smaller would be easier to pull together to her own standards, but that was why she had people that were in charge of planning such events. She told them what she wanted, they made it happen. Magic.

"We could, certainly. We'll go now," Akantha decided, standing up. There was hardly a time she might pass up going to the market or a favourite atelier, and clearly, this was not one of them. Her floaty dress was hardly fitting to be seen by others outside of this garden; it was comfortable and while the gold at the neck and belt said plenty, it was hardly something one received guests in, and Rhydian did not count as a guest considering how much time he had spent with her family over the last decade and some. She would need to change. This weather was hardly appropriate for a cloak, and she was not going to just hide her dress under one. Fortunately, to go to Filaurel's, Akantha did not need anything particularly elaborate; not in that area of the city. Putting on something else would not take too long. "I need to get changed, and we'll have the appropriate carriage brought around."
