"You don’t know how much I appreciate that,” Korvaelis told him with much sincerity. He could not say there were many other nobles expected from him. Maybe they cared too little for him to expect anything at all. Even so, it was his brother’s opinion he cared for the most. Kodi was a true critic of Korvaelis and he wished he could say he did not care, however, everything he did was for his only surviving family member. “No one’s commented on my behavior...I think. You’re not a noble, but I could care less.”
“Dancing is supposed to be about fun, I’m just so self-conscious about my own. I don’t want to embarrass myself in front of people. I’d like to believe other people’s opinions do not matter, but sometimes they do.” Korvaelis sighed as he swayed some more. After Destyn accepted his compliment, he gave a nod so as not to say anything else that would mislead the fae about how he felt about him. It was too soon for something like that.
“That’s so tragic! I am glad you got away.” He said before realizing that he mentioned someone many would deem important to the city. “Did you say you were carrying the prince? That’s an experience! The Avialae is huge and with a broken foot, I don’t understand how you were capable of carrying him onto a ship!”
He did not understand what he meant by darkening the mood. If anyone were to darken the mood, it would be Korvaelis. The party lights were dimming and could tell that meant the party was ending soon. “You did nothing of the kind. You only revealed to me that you’re a hero.” He paused to end the dance and guide Destyn back to the bench they were previously sitting on. “I’m afraid I’ll have to end it here tonight.”
Korvaelis bowed to the blonde. “Take care, I pray we meet again.”
