"Your archeological endeavour?" Arvælyn repeated, canting an eyebrow up at the curious comment. "And what, pray tell, will you be excavating?" The realm was replete with ruins from prior civilisations, and he was fascinated by the implications to be derived from many of these former cultures. From the early Varværyn period, to the Epoch of Vastium, and of course the cultures that predated either, there was much to mine from Atraxia's past. He'd even had the privilege to see what lay within the Thalamum Draconum, which seemed to have been a subterranean city unto itself in some earlier era, though he hadn't asked his kin who dwelt there.
Arvælyn knitted his brow, a bit confused at Læbirius' switch to Vallenor speech. It might have taken his mind a moment to catch up to the shift in tongues, if not for the clarifying influence of his Mesmer. Still, he let the comment lie unanswered. It was probably true that he ought to mingle more, but the night was relatively young and in these social situations he believed the Vastian proverb: "Fortis fortuna adiuvat."
"I thank you, Læbirius." Arvælyn nodded in acknowledgment of the offer, as his eyes darted about in search of the servus assigned to serve as his nomenclator for the evening. Many of those present had no reason to expect the newly minted prince to know their names by looking at their faces, but it was still a boon to have a bit of intel just before stalking into a novel social situation. He gestured for the nomenclator to approach, and gestured to a pair of senators eyeing him from nigh of the bar.
"Until next time." He said with a nod to Læbirius, before leaning down to listen as the names and political leanings of the two senators in question were detailed into the cup of his pointed ear.
