While Seværys and Tithya responded, the look on Palæros’ face was an expression of subtle amusement.
“I’ll admit, Tithya’s right about that one; though I do admire the skill of the participants, I’ve never participated myself,” he’d say with a light laugh, “...and I certainly wouldn’t consider them to be in the same category as any of the parties I’ve been to or helped put on.”
But then he’d look to Seværys specifically, “...and so you are, but must you always be? I’m sure you could be great fun if I were ever to catch you alone,” he’d continue with a small giggle. Oddly, the notion of how ‘regimented’ he was would almost appear to excite Palæros more– people like that were often the most pent-up, so to speak.
“I bet the anonymity of the Masquerade might help you loosen up as well; such a shame I’ll not be able to tell you apart from the rest, though,” and to this he’d sigh somewhat theatrically, underscoring just how unfortunate he thought this was.
Time continued to pass and soon they would have to get up and actually attend to their duties. For this, Victrian made his return, but given the supposition provided by the other two, he was remarkably hesitant to speak on whatever it was that had gone on between him and the starlit princeps. Æros found this curious while it made Palæmon nervous more so than anything else. They figured if he were merely unable to speak on whatever it was, he’d tease them about it, jackal that he was– but no. How strange.
