龍 Pain and a suffocating weight of dread echoed through him as he found himself floating back down to the ground. In that moment, so close to the voidrillium infused creatures, he felt an overwhelming darkness engulf him. It was similar to the darkness he experienced during the Demontide battle, but this one was far more corrosive, the feeling of a snake slithering into his head. He could hear the laughing from before getting louder this time, echoing as it spoke. "Why fight it, give in to the madness, let the darkness consume you, ARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!"
The voice hissed in anguish as the light of Talon taking his divine form sheered away the darkness. Somehow he was back from where he had been, pulled away from the shinaegri as they conjoined into an amalgamation of mouths, teeth, flesh, and corruption. Tear filled eyes looked up as Talon ordered them to go on and save the miners, to let him handle the monster. Getting to his feet he looked back one last time at Talon before hurrying to catch up to the others.
When he joined them Yumeko didnt speak, but he could tell from the expression on her face that she was both concerned for him and disappointed in him all at once. For now, he settled on guarding the rear like Talon had instructed him before. There was more at stake than his pride right now, and the constant ache in his chest from the negation core was reaching a high that warned him to calm himself. Taking a deep breath he readied himself for the push ahead, while himself and Yumeko kept watch of the rear. All the while the voice in the darkest reaches of his mind snickered and giggled. 龍
