Appearance
Zoan:
There is something deceptively soft about Leith’s appearance. She is a large woman, and with her work focused on feeding others behind a counter one might think it was a propensity for food that had caused this, with wide hips and a generous amount of curves to her form. Her Druskai seeming of pale blue skin and oily midnight blue hair contributes to this duplicity. Until you happen upon her eyes, for then you will see two dark pits where there should be glassy opalescent orbs common to her people, and as she shifts, see that there is a heft and power behind the movement of her skin that cannot simply have come from consuming her own cooking. Her light skin is covered with a darker blue dappling effect that covers her back and climbs up the side of her neck, fading as it touches her cheeks, with pronounced canines that occasionally poke out over her lips. Friendly if strangely predatory grins fully expose a mouth filled with a series of terrifying molars, and her hair is either worn in a long disheveled mess that expands around her like an inky black storm cloud, or a series of complex braids kept out of her face for cooking.
Lycan:
Leith rarely uses this form except in case of intimidation and in need of pure brute strength out of the water. Growing in size her prominent ears and hair fall away to reveal a sleek and smooth seal head with a short blunted snout. Her skin becomes covered in sleek fur and her dappling changes from light and dark blue, to light and dark grey. In this form Leith stands at 8’6” and weighs 400 lbs.
Beast:
In Beast form Leith is a massive Leopard Seal, a sleek hunting machine the size of a small whale, with dappled silver fur and a powerfully built maw for crushing prey. In this form Leith is 15 ft long and weighs in at 1500 lbs
Personality
Leith shys away from very little though possesses a reservation that belies her Druskai and Rathari heritage, belonging to the patient and curious mind of an aquatic predator. Though no stranger to using her bulk for intimidation, Leith would much rather charm, cajole, and reason with those she meets, and is quite affable to those both new and familiar to her. There are two states of observation she truly enjoys: Those of the mind and tongue of one with an empty belly, and that of a full one, a tactic she utilizes to the fullest extent in her line of work.
History
Leith grew up quite normally in her Korkann family. She knew only that her dark eyes were strange and the state of her always smooth skin set her somewhat apart, as well as the mysterious fact that she was told she was birthed from the middle aged mage woman who always stood a bit apart from the others in their crew, though as Leith came to realize as she grew older the woman, Clyte, never took mates nor had had any clutches of eggs in any recent memory so far as she knew. Growing up communally she occasionally received the taunts and jeers of her peers, but though curious about her physical differences the child Leith never grew bitter or resentful, and as she grew into a proficient swimmer and hunter for her crew these insults faded. The discovery of Leith’s perhaps more true Rathari heritage manifested alongside the prolific growth and transformation of her hatchmates, turning into her beast form in a moment of sunbathing relaxation.
After this, life became at once so much easier and more complex for Leith. Her first few years after her first full transformation were fraught with waves of heightened emotion, mostly excitement and a thrill for the hunt which made any she had felt before seem hollow and pale. These were the first times she had indeed felt rage so deep that she lost control of herself, and part of her did grow frightened at what she was. But as with a dangerous life at sea and in line with her personality up until that point, the Rathari Druskai took everything in stride. With her new massive seal form she could catch larger and larger fish, crustaceans, and aquatic life to feed her tribe. Because of this she was able to gain more free time in between aiding on large hunts, and began to pursue other hobbies and skills. The first was spending more time with the creatures she caught in the kitchens. As a child she had always been fascinated with the preparation and varieties of Kinousa. And on top of providing for her people she enjoyed just as much if not more serving it to them in new and unique ways.
The second was becoming an apprentice to Clyte. Magic had always felt distant and out of reach to her, but something about knowing the whole reason she was able to transform at will had something to do with past magic altered her perspective on this front. At every available opportunity (not cooking) she spent time with Clyte. And through a combination of her own stubbornness and dedication, convinced the Druskai to initiate her both in the ways of Animus and Negation.
It was just before Clyte brought her to the same cave she had completed her Animus initiation in to be isolated through the process after gaining her Negation rune that Clyte revealed to Leith that she had been given her as an egg from a Vethcairn she owed a favor to. Convinced the likelihood of the single egg actually hatching was low, she had agreed. It was an interesting thought to have so new and fresh in her mind as the fresh wound of the initiation rune burned on her skin, Clyte departing in her small boat from the cave, the water lapping upon the rocks as the Druskai Rathari realized how much she longed to understand the why of such an occurrence, even as her mind began to fuzz and fog as an experience so different from her Animus initiation began to take place.
After the initiation Clyte refused to speak anymore of the circumstances surrounding her obtaining of her as an egg. She would not tell Leith no matter what she did, and only after a night when Leith helped cook a large feast for her tribe after they hunted a truly massive eel, plied with moonshine, did she get a single location from the woman mage: Kalzasi.
It took Leith several more years, learning as much as she could from Clyte about her new powers and making preparations, but she eventually left her tribe. Fueled by a curiosity her child self never held about the truth of her heritage, the culture and division between the Druskai that had raised her and the ones of the north, and the largest question of all, if there were other Druskai Rathari like her.
