Personality
Nnerka is just like any other spry, thirty-two year old. She's fun, she's quirky. She's got a set of mandibles coming out of her mouth; what more could you ask for? She likes to think she's a generally sociable fae, considering the upbringing that discouraged associating with mortal beings. While she isn't boundlessly curious, she does like taking in the things around her. Understanding how the world works, so to speak. Much of what she knows (survival of the fittest) can be translated into the supposedly civilized world, but in ways that she doesn't often expect. It leaves her in an almost perpetual child-like wonder that's shadowed only by her voracious appetite. Her ability to pick up on social cues is far more lacking than her ability to pick out a potential meal.

As childish as she may come across, she does have her moments of profound wisdom. Usually over a meal. And said to someone that can't answer, because she's either accidentally killed them - or they're dinner. Moments of clarity are often lost to her aside from the desire to, well, survive (eat). It would be an appropriate focus if she were stuck in the wilds, but around people...not so much anymore.

But she's working on it; she promises.

Beneath the simplicity, though, is a shifting beast of restlessness. Uncertainty. A feeling that the complacency of her current status - though it affords her ultimately all she has ever truly desired - is not enough. And that she must find something better than where she is. Not that she has those exact words for it; she's a creature of simple motivations and thoughts. May the gods keep her that way.

Appearance
To make things easy, she's a giant spider. To make them a bit more...accurate; Nnerka has never been one to shy away or disguise her greatly unnerving Fae appearance. From the waist up, she might appear as a typical (if not beautiful and well-endowed) Hytori woman, for the most part. Pointed ears; skin a warm beige, soft to the touch. Hair long, reaching to beyond her waist. Wide eyes full of wonder, but dark as a moonless night; entirely black. The whole eye. The resemblance to a beautiful woman becomes increasingly less notable the more one thinks about it. Around what should be one set of eyes are several smaller sets. They're usually closed for the convenience of not scaring away everyone that comes into contact with her, but in the process they begin to resemble little scars. Her mouth is slitted, extra folds of skin that lay over where her mandibles are tucked away safely. A too-wide smile reveals them with ease, along with rows of sharp teeth.

Nnerka possesses four arms and six legs. The first set of arms are humanoid, fingers tipped in blackened ends that resemble talons. Carelessness ruins clothing, most days. The second set is much closer to her legs in both position and appearance. The skin resembles that of her human body until it reaches her forearms, where the soft fuzz of downy hairs begin to gather. They resemble legs, though they don't reach down low enough to be considered such. At the ends of them are two fingers on either hand that look similar to the fingers of her first set of arms. They have the same movement capabilities, though are most often used for cradling objects. They sit just above where her pedicel connects her upper half and abdomen. Err, her ass, in the case of two-leggers. Her legs begin just beyond her pedicel. Each joint is covered in a tuft of fur that's rose gold in hue. Smaller hairs along her legs are black, with some ending in the same rose gold coloring. Her hair, atop her head, is similar in that from the roots several inches down goes from black to rose gold.

Listening to her talk is like listening to her sing, which is to say it's a little hard to distinguish plain speech from song based on the cadence of her voice. Her laughter is much the same, and it probably has to do with talking to plants most of the time. You need your environment to cooperate when trying your best to find a meal, after all. She has a preference for clothing that legs her secondary arm exposed, though sacrifices in fashion can be made to keep her limbs from feeling the chill. In the extremely rare chance that you see her in a glamoured form, her legs are still a notable feature. Her secondary arms are set closer to the first, and her legs extend from both her abdomen and lower back, often curled up to easily be hidden under clothing.

History
As a spiderling, Nnerka didn't think that her clan was particularly different from any other. They bore their resemblances to the land they inhabited through numerous legs and teeth that belonged to arachnids, but there was nothing that set them so terribly apart. Nothing, except a small, special part of their diet. There was an abundance of food. So much, too much. But it was a particularly special day when they carried back the spoils of defending the land they lived within.

It was meant to be a lesson. One that could have been learned by observing the world around her, but there was a poignancy to experiencing it first hand. Survival of the fittest was a concept that couldn't be fully expressed in words. Not properly, not from her parents' perspective. It was both obvious and not, but ultimately, that special part of their diet would be something that kept Nnerka and her siblings apart from other fae. It would instill in her a sense that she had to do something beyond simply surviving.

Her childhood was not complicated, or tumultuous. She learned to exist with the land, to be more than just a simple inhabitant of it. To be part of it was something different. She had a family that loved her. She had siblings that, where applied, were royal pains in the ass as they should be. She had cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents and great grandparents that loved her and were loved in equal measure.

But she was not the "fittest".

And she was fine with this. She told herself as much. She told herself that was quite alright as long as she could eat. And eat she did. As she grew older, the spoils of "war" - what they liked to call it when all they were doing was perceived as being a nuisance to development - became more enticing. By the time she was fourteen, she'd become an active member in protecting her homeland, venturing closer to the frontlines. Careful traps laid out for the unsuspecting, pounced on while they tried to free themselves. They were tentative tries, at first, but cultivated with the watchful eye of her family and those more experienced within her clan.

It became abundantly clear that she wanted - perhaps, needed - to take "preventative" measures. It was no longer a defensive thing that she did, but an offensive tactic. A means to turn the tides of an imagined war. She took this with great joy, like anyone would. Like anyone should. The food that had once been overly abundant was now much more so. The special meal that had once been a passing grace become more common place. And she was happy, as she should be.

The beast of restlessnes, however, was not. That nagging thought of what the fittest was, could be: she was still not it. Not here, with some may others who were better. But, their aggressive actions began to gain the attention of neighboring cities. It would result in hostilities that ramped up and lead to bloody retreats. At twenty-three, Nnerka and her clan were displaced. Sent wandering through the wilds as they fled from the retaliation of poorly planned actions. But she was content; she had survived.

Relocation would find her heading toward the north. The weather was not kind to them. The change in climate resulted in dwindling numbers. They slowed with each loss. They tried to settle in places that would be more hospitable, but they had developed a certain...reputation. Habits that prevented cohabitation, that were hard to shed and harder to learn from as they faced the consequences. The crawl to new lands became harder as their numbers dropped. They were delayed further with each obstacle, and years would pass before Nnerka would make it to Kalsazi. But she would be alone.

And she would not be content.

Nnerka found herself in a place colder than she'd ever experienced, by herself. The wilds she had grown accustomed to would need to be forsaken for the chance at survival. The civilization she had been told to avoid would be where she fled to. The spider found, at first, tentative employment within The Velvet Cabaret. She drew the attention of The Madame, who had need for someone to fulfill a particular request and Nnerka happened to meet the requirements. She would remain, content with her adapting to the environment around her.

Until the beast of restlessness stirs again.
