The air around them was electric, Hyoga and Yumeko prepared for the task at hand. "Are you ready Hyoga?" she inquired, materializing her weapon in a graceful manner. Hyoga held a look of determination as he was prepared for this. With a smile, she nodded and sat in a meditative state.

"You know what to do then, lets get started." she said motioning him to join her. Taking his own seat on a straw mat, Hyo placed the weapon on his lap, his hands at the top and bottom of the shaft of the family guandao. Taking a deep breath he began to pour his aether into it.

It was silent between them, Yumeko watching him as he began to meditate with the weapon. Hyo began to meditate about what being a warrior meant to him. What it was he was living for. He could see the images of his life back in the village, and the people he came to know and love as family. He felt himself flowing into the guan dao that lay in his lap, feeling the sensation he felt when he first made his pact.

"Always remember my son, a warrior's worth is not by the weapon he wields but by the way he fights. Without honor and determination, you will be nothing in the eyes of others. Never forget to bring honor to everything you touch. When everything else has been taken, honor is all you will have. Now come and enter the life of a true warrior."

Visions of his past training sessions with his father came into view, and the two of them were starting to becoming closer together. After an hour of pouring his aether and meditating with his new weapon, he opened his eyes and took his spot, getting into a fighting stance. Yumeko stood and pointed her guan dao at him.

"Be warned, just cause you're family, it doesn't mean you will be shown mercy." she said, though her eyes widened as Hyoga had already cleared the distance between them, his wings giving him a boost in his speed. "Neither will I!" he roared as both warriors clashed blades.

With a forceful push, she pushed Hyo back and the two had a staredown for a moment. Without a word, she sprinted forward which forced him to take an aggressive stance, readying himself for their clash, before lunging forward at her aiming to cleave her head off from the shoulders. She was unphased as she simply darted out of the way, coming around to his left flank and sending an upward slash aiming to take Hyo's dominant arm from him.

He barely dodged out of the way, using the guandao to buff most of the impact. Even still the force behind her strike was enough to send his sliding back across the floor some distance bringing him down to one knee. Despite this, his hands never left the weapon. Getting to his feet she was already upon him, not giving Hyo a chance to breathe, as he was on the defensive, and a poor one at that. It was clear she was toying with me, like a cat playing with the mouse or bird they caught before finishing it.

To make matters worse, the hallucinations were starting to take over. Yumeko would be there one moment, and with a swing of her weapon, it would be his own father at the other end of the weapon. He watched with each clash of steel how they changed before him, mentally focusing on keeping his soul together and not die in the process.

The fight between them was intensifying with each swing but Hyo was determined to beat her, and in his current mental state, trying to kill her. Her reflexes however were sharp, instinctively blocking with her weapon. No matter how hard he was fighting she was blocking each and every strike with the ease of breathing.

"Come now Hyoga, this can't be all you got?!" she goaded, flinging him across the practice arena with her skill. However, Hyoga was no longer seeing his refined and graceful aunt, but his stern and emotionless father. He was freaking out mentally, but he was not going to hold back all he had, and in that something clicked......well snapped.

Flapping his wings he was no longer his normal self, there was an overwhelming sense of calm that settled on him. However the stance he was taking, Yumeko had seen it before....with his father. She knew what was coming next, and now the real fight was about to begin. In anticipating this she began pulling out all the stops, using a technique he had never seen before. Her guan dao began to replicate, multiple copies of the weapon appearing from thin air.

Hyoga watched with a calm expression on his face, but beneath it raged a violent storm as her army of guan dao appeared before him. Not waiting till all her replicas were created, he charged her, coming to slice her arm off, only for her to deflect it. With a flick of her wrist, she sent a replica to intercept him.

Taken back by this he had to rethink his plan, his grip tightening as he realized what he was up against now. It was unlike anything he had seen from a Reaver before. He was unable to see Yumeko however as the air around her was filled with aetheric copies of her weapon. She pressed him, firing off multitudes of these copies at Hyoga with the intent to end him. The sound of metal bouncing off metal sang in the air as he deflected each one as they soared at him.

In the distance, the hallucination of his father had overtaken his aunt, engulfed in an ominous and malicious aura. It seemed that there was some closer still left that he had to handle with him, and it seemed to Hyo this was his final test. Yumeko continued to press him with her assault firing more of the replicas at him, unrelenting and with force.

Without hesitation he met her assault with his own, charging through her horde deflecting each replica that came at him. For each one that bounced off his impending pact weapon, at least three more took its place. He quickly deduced that this was going to continue until he could land a decisive blow on the visage of his father.

Taking to the sky he dodged and deflected as the flurry of copy weapons almost cleaved his head clean off his shoulders. Luckily he was able to shield his neck and block it. Cutting the aetheric weapon down he swooped forward, using his new weapon to make a path through the incoming projectiles. Seeing this, however, his opponent adjusted her attacks to stop him. In all this, all Hyoga could see was his father's steely gaze looking into his soul.

The harder he fought however the more replicas that appeared to stop him. He had no choice but to take some of the strikes as he rocketed through them to clear the way. Not only this but using the momentum of his flying, he forced his way through the assault of replicas. He knew that as long as the horde was surrounding the hallucination of his father this fight would never end and he risked failing this pact.

"You really aren’t making this easy for me are you father?" he whispered, weaving through the weapon projectiles as best he could, never letting his grip loosen. Swerving in and out of them as several attacked in a uniformed fashion, delivering strikes and slashes in coordinated precision. As fast as he thought he was he still sustained cuts & gashes from the attacks he was unable to deflect, but it would take more than that to bring him down for good.

He was determined to win this, he had no choice but to win this fight. Seeing that there was an opening in the firing pattern he exploited that, bobbing in and out of each one, barreling down on the hallucination in a final attempt to finish this fight. He would have an easy time as more of the replicas homed in on him, jetting toward him.

Clearing past them, he found himself within striking distance of his hallucinated father. With a mighty swing he brought it down on it, a resound twang of metal as Yumeko blocked it. The difference however in this was that she was brought to one knee, as the blade of Hyo's polearm was digging into the flesh of her shoulder. It was at this time that he felt the weapon become one with his soul.

It was over, finally, as Yumeko finally came into his view, the hallucination of his father fading from his eyes. "Well done nephew, you did it." she congratulated, catching him as he collapsed into her arms. "You were successful, I didn't think you would manage a blow against me." she added, helping him sit.

His eyes fell to her wound, but she shrugged it off as it wasn't that deep, as it bled through her robes. "So do you have a name for this weapon?" she inquired, coming to sit next to him. Holding it up in the air he let out a sigh with a smile. "Aoi Ryu, it means Azure Dragon." he said with a panted breath.

"I will have to go visit my parent grave soon. I saw father doing the pact session, and I realize i need closure from the incident, as I left after burying them." he admitted, to which Yumeko nodded, embracing his large frame and kissing his forward.

"if that's what you think is best then by all means, go and get your closure."
