Tastes like Chicken!
Name: Red Frilled Raptis
Habitat: Many farms and the plains
Threat: Low
Notable Abilities: Being as fast as they are delicious. Sharp Claws.
Description: One of the staples of the Kalzasi diet the Red Frilled Raptis is a large flightless bird. Despite its looks the creature is relatively harmless pretty much always opting to flee danger rather than combat it. Domesticated for generations now, it has perhaps done better under the care of farmers than it ever did in the wild. Growing fatter and slower (thankfully) with each passing generation. Second to their meat their plumage is prized for use in plush bedding and other such soft decors.
Diet Grains seeds insects and small animals such as mice, most small pests.
Size on average these flightless birds reach around four feet in height.
Reasons to interact Incredibly tasty meat and eggs are usually enough incentive for most. They make for relatively decent pets generally loyal and docile until they get spooked.
Recommended Stats Animal handling: Novice.
