Name:The Greater Parakeeta

Habitat:The plains and forests surrounding Kalzasi

Threat:Low

Notable Abilities: Opposable thumbs! A very Powerful Beak. Strong Family bonds. Long memory. Good climbers, Capable Swimmers.


Description:This colorful species is an amalgamation of some of natures most diverse creations. A Powerful beak made primarily of breaking the shells of even the hardiest of seeds and nuts. Powerful eyes on the swivel for the apex predators of the plains. Their throats hide one of their more interesting abilities, they can inflate their throats much like a frog but they instead produce a chilling warning shriek. The legs of the parakeeta are powerful capable of maintaining short sprints topping out at thirty miles and leaping walls recorded to have been twelve feet in height. Last but not least the Parakeeta has powerful hands with fully functioning thumbs it uses to climb all but the most daunting of trees.

Herbivore This creature eats all manner of nuts berries and fruits, climbing trees as needed to get them. The sweeter the fruit the more risky things a Parakeeta will do to get them.

Size These beasts can reach heights of six feet, most capping at around five.

Lifecycle These creatures are fully grown in their third year of life. they easily live into their mid forties losing their ability to reproduce in their mid thirties. Their final surprise to most is that these are a nest building and egg laying species, choosing the tallest sturdiest of trees to build permanent nests that they will expand and share with their children so long as the tree can sustain them. The eggs of the Parakeeta are yellow speckled with green and about the same size as an ostrich egg.

Reasons to interact Intelligent and loyal creatures with elephant like memories. common and easily motivated by food and pack instincts. Used to carrying their young they are capable of carrying and climbing with large loads.
