The Hobbled Gobbler

The Hobbled Gobbler is a fairly nondescript, stone building tucked into a lesser traveled back alley of Zaichaer. The front door is heavy, with a rooster on a chain carved into the front of it. The front windows are mostly metal, small panes of glass, that give off a small glow from inside. Once inside, one will find the Gobbler a long hall, spanning across the block.

Down the center of the tavern runs a long train of tables, acting as a communal eating space, with private tables set off to the sides by the walls. There are two hearths each on the longer walls, to better space out the heating and light. The tables lack adornment aside from a few candles and are made of heavy, sturdy wood. The chairs are lighter, and are not especially comfortable but only a couple of drinks typically makes one forget it.

At the end of the hall is the bar, spanning most of the width of the hall, seating up to twenty on bar stools. At one side, the counter opens up to allow staff to move back and forth between the spaces. The wall behind the bar is adorned with shelves lined with liquor, with barrels of various drinks scattered about. There's a sink built behind the bar for cleaning glasses. To the left of the bar is a set of stairs that heads up to the sleeping area.

Behind the bar is a door that leads to the large kitchen. It is a full working kitchen capable of feeding all who come in. There's a back door that goes out to the street, a set of stairs that goes down into the basement warehouse, and a set of stairs that go upstairs to Franky's personal apartment.

The Second Floor is divided into two sections. One section is reserved for customers that have rented a room. This section is divided into two hallways, each locked to keep the cheaper patrons separate from those with more money. The Cheap Hall has 12 Bedrooms and 2 Bathrooms to be shared by the renters. The rooms here are pretty much simply a bed. They lack windows and adornment and really are mostly used by those passing through or need a place to sleep off their drink. The Nicer Hall has 3 Common grade bedrooms, with beds, furniture, and small, private bathrooms. It also has one Luxurious grade bedroom, with a king sized bed, a sitting area, a bathroom with a bathtub and shower, and many other nice amenities, including windows over looking the road. This entire section may be accessed by the stairwell in the bar area.

The other section of the Second Floor is Franky's Office and private apartment. He is the only person with access to these areas, keeping them locked regularly. This section can be accessed by the stairwell in the kitchen.

The Hobbled Gobbler is currently a single person operation, owned and operated solely by Franky. Franky works hard to learn and expand his cooking and brewing, hoping to reach more diverse tastes. He's currently looking to hire servers, bartenders, cooks, cleaning staff, and entertainment. Anyone wishing to rent a room, for the night or longer term, must speak to Franky first to get the key to their room. He expects payment up front for all transactions.

Franky keeps a healthy, legal atmosphere. He knows how the authorities feel about those who frequent his tavern, so he keeps his nose and business extra clean. He doesn't tolerate any law breaking and will turn in any who do so openly. However, the occasional bar brawl and the like is fine, so long as no weapons get brandished. Anyone who pulls a weapon is banned for life. Franky prefers a happier, jovial atmosphere, filled with music, stories, drinking games, seduction, all the best parts of the tavern life.

"The Hobbled Goblin Himself"
PC: Character Sheet

Franky is a friendly, sociable Hobgoblin. In addition to being a typical warrior in his tribe back home, he often sat around the campfires, cooking and listening to the stories of others. He's slow to anger, and shrewd with his coin, and isn't above shady business practices. But ultimately, he just wants people to sit around the fire, telling stories, drinking and eating, and giving money away to him and those who serve them.
