Kara's cull is a newer area in the Knob, nestled between Smoke Stack and Verowa End. It is of similar architecture as Smoke Stack, but the buildings are newer and in better condition. The reason for this is that the neighborhood used to be called Gateway, as it was the main road that led into the copper mines. And Gateway was completely destroyed back in year 90.

In the year 90, there was a secret group of mages in Zaichaer, united under a human leader named Kara. Kara was promising them a way to take back the respect and prestige that mages once held in Zaichaer. She had begun amassing and training forces to take the government by force. And all was going well, and according to plan. That is, until someone had sold out Kara and her people, alerting the military to what was going on. The Order of Reconciliation captured Kara's family, executing her husband first, to draw her out of hiding. When she did, to save the lives of her children, she was given a choice; give every associate's name so they could be executed, or watch her family die.

Kara refused to give up her people, and she watched as her children were burned alive, and she screamed as she was burned alive afterwards. However, her death martyred her to the cause, and all of the mages came out of the woodworks. They managed to achieve a few powerful assassinations, losing several members in the process. And that was when the Order chose to squash the threat in one go. They set explosive all through Gateway, and leveled every building, forcing all of the residents to stay inside as they did, to ensure they killed every mage and set an example so that none might attempt a coup again.

The neighborhood was eventually rebuilt out of the need for housing but none have forgotten what happened there. The residents of Kara's Cull are largely Goblin, Rathari, and Siltori, many of whom are descendants or relatives of those who died in the Culling. These people renamed the neighborhood after Kara and the tragedy that happened here. Many of the people here still wish to see the government pay for the slaughter they enacted, but still maintain a massive distrust of mages. This has put Kara's Cull in a precarious position, for they do not tend to tolerate mages, but they also won't turn them into the government. It has led to a type of ostracization. If a person is known to be a mage, they will typically find themselves entirely shunned by the community within Kara's Cull.

But among these shunned, a community is growing, to relight Kara's torch.
