Knife of Amber Sun Cutting Through Everfrost-Mountain Forests, or as he is more often referred to, Knife, is laid-back, relaxed, and still somehow bull-headed. He knows when to let a conflict pass, but he is not afraid of making his opinion known, and once declared it is difficult to budge him. He is easy to talk to, and walks the thin line of being inquisitive enough to ask questions, but not so curious as to pry in business that does not belong to him. Not openly, at least.

Appearance

Knife leans heavily Hytori in appearance, his complexion fair and his hair long, straight, and golden. He has a long face with delicate features, framed by the delicate moth wings that grow from his temples. He's on the taller end of Hytori, but still shorter than his sisters, and lithe in build. His dress has morphed to fit Kalzasi fashion trends, especially those of the Avialae. The customs made to accommodate their wings gives him greater freedom in dressing to fit the moth wings that sprout from his back, matched in color and pattern by the wings at his forehead. He prefers rich, jewel-toned fabrics and warm colors, and is more than willing to show off the unique features of his kind.

History

A family notable for their long, story-like names and their musical prowess, Knife was born into this travelling troupe of Fae who owed allegiance to the Court of Fall. The troupe traveled a far route that took them to Kalzasi for two weeks every Ash, and Knife's birth was afforded as much celebration as the family could afford. His name was granted by the very view his mother had seen on the day of his birth - the sunrise peering through mountain peaks and illuminating stretches of evergreen forests near Kalzasi. An omen, to be sure, Knife was raised by the troupe and trained from an early age in both fiddle and dagger. And every year, like clockwork, his family ended up in Kalzasi in time to celebrate his birthday. His childhood was happy, full of family, responsibility, love, and high expectations in equal amounts.

It was the birthday he had turned ten years old that he met the enigmatic Petra. With as much craft as a child could muster, he would sneak the girl into their shows, gift her candy he had saved from distant locales, practice his fiddle, and promise to return the next year. He did return the next year - he always returned the next year - and for over a decade he would find her, wherever she had gone, and bring her a handful of candies. For a child who rarely stopped traveling, for a man who spent more time with his family and had little time to make friends, he considered Petra his best.

As an adult, he made the decision to stop traveling. Perhaps it was annoyance with his family or a deeper interpersonal conflict, but he prefers to see them as they stop in Kalzasi during Ash and for no longer. What interactions he does have with his family are stilted and short, a contrast to the man's usual behavior.
