History: The House of Angevin was officially founded, according to scholars and family oral tradition, by Lerion Angev and her husband, Tyrol, né Capellet. As the only heir of her father, she made a matrilineal marriage, and when her spouse's family went through tragic straights, he became heir to his family. Their issue was to rule two counties within the kingdom, eventually joining them into one duchy. Their descendants used their heightened power to accumulate more and eventually, an Angevin sat upon the throne royal.
After the Sundering reduced the kingdom to rubble, they were instrumental in preserving what remained and have since remained among the oligarchs that rule Zaichaer through authority garnered by wealth, connection, and high ranks in the military and other power organizations within the High City. Their ancient home was lost to the chaos, but the Angevin Estate in Zaichaer remains a sight to behold, though different family heads have focused on different parts to improve and remove as families are wont to do.
Angevins were among the founders of the Order of Reconciliation and there have been Angevins leading military, Order, and State at various points in the High City's history, though none have risen so high in recent years.

Biography: An accomplished young woman when she married, this scion of an old family thought she had made a smart match when she married Leir Angevin. She had thought his career trajectory would skyrocket him into the position of Grand Marshal someday, but while he is powerful and well-respected, he did plateau earlier than she would have liked. Though she bore him three perfectly good heirs, he had always wanted a son and when he got one upon a Dratori woman, she could not help but take that as a personal attack. Of course, only a few of her few confidants have any idea that things are less than golden between them.
To all outward appearance, she is the model wife, mother, and lady of Zaichaeri society. If she was never more than cool toward her stepson, few could blame a woman scorned, though she had received an outsized amount of lauding for making do with what she was given when it came to her husband's mongrel son. Once her children were grown, however, her stepson's bastardy and diluted bloodline were old news and rarely, if ever, commented upon, though it was quite the scandal at the time.
Orilla

Biography: Orilla is her father's daughter, both in the good ways and the bad. Her mother has given up on her in some of the ways she has given up on the Admiral, at least where it comes to changing who she is. At least she has taken a husband of adequate breeding, the prenuptial agreement assuring that her children, when she can be bothered to have them, will be Angevins.
She is the captain of the ZADC Ascendant Pride, and spends a fair amount of time between Haqs and the High City, supporting the Ambassador to Haqs and providing both transportation and communication between the two cities. While never close with her brother, she has warmed to him somewhat as he has taken the family's honor and military tradition seriously.

Biography: Still considered "the Middle Child" despite her father's legally recognized bastard, she is perhaps the happy medium of her parents' influences, though happy might not be the best word for it. While she also went into military service, she was given a proper début into high society and it was doubly grand for her elder sister having turned her nose up at it. Friederike spent the lion's share of the money she had set aside for Orilla's party on Regan's, saving only a portion for Delia's.
Not to be outdone by Orilla, she also made a matrilineal marriage, which amused her father but exasperated her mother. Recently made captain of the ZADC Silent Roar, an experimental airship with near silent engines, she has accomplished more in her life than she needed to but remains unfulfilled. Her resentment toward her half-brother never cooled, though she can remain civil despite her animosity toward him now.

Biography: "The Baby" was always the sweet, nice daughter, at least by comparison to her elder sisters. Her mother fought tooth and nail to raise this one largely by herself, at least when it came to her training. As such, she was a delight to her father, though his affection for her carried with it a belief that she was of less worth in other ways than her military-bound sisters. Not minding too much, she loved her father, but attended her mother and modeled herself after the idea of her mother as a young woman that she held close to her heart.
Long dangled in front of Melchior Dornkirk as a possible wife for his son Stefan, she has kept her opinions on the matter to herself, seeming tractable wherever her thoughts might lie. She was the first to warm to her half-brother, though her small kindnesses were quiet and secret at first as she didn't want to upset her mother or her sisters, either. If they aren't boon companions, she is the person in his immediate family that he is closest to.
