The Knob Free Press



The Knob Free Press is a new printing press and newspaper distributor within the Knob, founded as a joint venture by Franky and Mirielle Lancaster, with Franky as the Owner and General Manager and Mirielle as the Chief Editor. It was founded to provide a crucial service to the citizens of the Knob, which is creating a newspaper that is free from the propaganda of the Zaichaeri government and features news that will actually matter to the general populace of the largely non-human neighborhood. It will feature stories both about the government and matters of the state, as well as local stories to the Knob. Mirielle has sworn to not both with the gossip pieces about the high born nobility of the West Side unless doing so affects the people of the Knob.

The Knob Free Press is located directly next door to the Hobbled Gobbler on the northside, occupying a two story structure of stone. The store front is two large, open windows, showing the lobby of the newspaper. Walking through the front door, a person would see the desk for the receptionist, and a comfortable seating area where people can wait. Behind the desk is a door leading into the back.

The next room back behind the reception area is the bullpen and offices for all of the reporters and support staff. The bullpen is a large area, with desks scattered about, with the offices adjoining around the edges. The largest office belongs to Mirielle, with another dedicated to the Editor, and two interviewing offices. There is a set of stairs in one corner that leads down to a storage area used largely for files and other documents. In the back of the bullpen, another door leads back into the Print Room.

The printing presses are brand new, using the height of Zaichaer's mechanical technologies to create high quality newspapers fast enough to distribute them daily. There are enough stations for all of the printers to work, with tools, ink, and other design features existing around the space. There's a large double set of doors in the back for loading up wagons with the newspapers and receiving materials deliveries. There's a set of stairs in the corner heading down into the storage area for paper, ink, and other tools.
