Ash 77-78th: The Wild Hunt
Hunters from all walks of life and experience come test themselves on the day of the Wild Hunt. Each city has their preferences to determine what it is the Hunters are looking for on a point system and sometimes they are required to bring it back alive rather than dead to show a test of skill. Ash 91st: Murder Within The Circle II
As the season draws to a close, another body washes ashore the port once more, this time with lacerations found across her spine. The Shokaze is welcomed back to Kalzasi with great fanfare and celebration. A rumor has begun to spread of unusual dragonshards appearing from locations around the Astralar mountains. The Circle of Spells recommends to avoid their use until more is known.

A seasonal holiday in Kalzasi, the Winter Requiem is hosted on the frozen Lake Udori near the middle of Frost on the coldest night. It is a night of remembrance for those who have passed the previous year, and an acknowledgment that despite how cold everything is now, Glade will return once more to warm the hearts of those left behind. Each of the Great Houses attends, setting up offerings to the lost and burning prayers to symbolically light the way to the next life.

Glade 32, 122: The Spring Thaw comes. Kalzasi must be ready. For what? Time will tell. [Additional events will be posted on April 1, 2022.][/color]
My people,
A new day dawns in Kalzasi.
Long had my husband been a fighter for peace. The many hours of his day were often spent communicating with our friends and neighbors, increasing ties to the states that make their home nearby. A hero, my husband claimed the throne of Kalzasi after deposing a terrible figure that sought to upend our very way of life. A man who never wanted the crown, he accepted it because his duty was and always has been, to protect us.
His life was brutally ended by the evil cruelty of guests with whom our family sought to break bread. Witnesses to the tragic events of Frost 88th state that officials who were welcomed into our home, granted leave to see the wonders of our city, invited to attend one of the most sacred events of our lifetime, slew our beloved sovereign. Not only that, they attacked and made vulnerable the Shining Star of our people, my son, Our Light, Prince Talon.
For a generation, my family has fought to ensure peace.
For our efforts, we have been answered with bloodshed.
It is with a heavy heart that I must set our nation to purpose. No longer will we bow to the tyranny of Zaichaer’s evil. No longer will we welcome such deceitful fiends into our midst. As we grieve, we must not lose sight of what it is that makes our people strong; each other. We have not fallen to the darkness of the Warrens. We will not fall to the wicked lies and traitorous methods of the sinister machinations of Zaichaer.
The City of Brass has grown tarnished. It must be cleansed.
War is upon us, but in this dark hour never forget that we seek the Light that was stolen from us.
For Kalzasi.
For the Light.
Signed,
Sahfri Andara d’Larienne Novalys
Queen Regent of Kalzasi

While the common people of Kalzasi seem hungry for justice in the aftermath of so much tragedy following the events of Frost, the nobles of the country simmer in unrest. The Great Houses continue to butt heads as friction over the Queen-Regent's regency grows. While outwardly things yet remain calm, one can only wonder how long before the nobles demand that a new Shokaze be crowned so that the reign of a new King can truly begin.
Searing 1: Noble Order [Prompt]
Kalzasi Effort: Diplomacy, Espionage or Skirmish
Zaichaer Effort: Diplomacy or Espionage
Weather: Heavy Rain. Cool to Temperate.
A noble house has begun causing trouble, speaking out against the current state of affairs in Kalzasi. This sentiment is being shared among various noble circles. A small summit of Lesser Houses have gathered to discuss the matter. Can they be made to support the war effort or will their voices just be the first in a long line of malcontents?
Searing 6: Circle of Power [Open Prompt]
Kalzasi Effort: Arcanomancy, Skirmish
Zaichaer Effort: Arcanomancy, Skirmish or Espionage
Weather: Cloudy. Temperate.
The Circle of Spells and the Sky Guard Battlemages have dispatched sorcerers to deal with the machinations of Zaichaeri mages who are bolstering enemy forces. The loss of their powers bolster the front line defenses could prove instrumental in allowing Kalzasern forces to occupy a key outpost.
Searing 13: Conflict at the Trenches [Open Prompt]
Kalzasi Effort: Skirmish or Reinforcements
Zaichaer Effort: Skirmish or Espionage
To the south of the City of Kalzasi, one of the outposts near the border has become the target of the Kalzasern Offensive. Reinforcements have been dispatched in order to turn the tide of battle. The capturing of this outpost will mean a definitive foothold in the Zaichaeri territory.
Searing 34: Wild Horror [Quest]
Kalzasi Effort: Any.
Zaichaer Effort: Any.
Weather: Stormy skies. Thunderstorms. Dread Miststorm.
The Astralar Mountains and the Wildking’s Forge have become inundated with manifestations of the Dread Mists at Category Three. Owing to recent events that have played out in Frost 121, Kalzasi’s defenses have seen a significant increase to guard against intrusion. However, even those arcane protections are put to the test in the onslaught of the powerful storms raging in both the mountains and the forest. As a result of these horrifying storms, things have become unstable in the Astralar Mountainrange. A request for assistance has gone out from the Temple of Fallen Skies, one of the most sacred shrines of Kalzasi. The monks are calling for aid. With the Kalzasi military and a large portion of the Circle and House Briathos committed to keeping the city proper safe, it falls to those courageous enough to answer the call. Not only that, there has been a surge in activity from the Warrens. Monsters now begin to outpour from the wilds, converging on the city and plaguing the countryside. Several outlying villages have been utterly decimated or their populations have suffered horrifying transformations to become wild monsters themselves. The warriors of Kalzasi are called to assist, lest the monstrous hordes go unchecked!
-Players will be allowed to sign up for either the Temple of Fallen Skies rescue mission or setting out to help quell the monstrous hordes that are amassing around Kalzasi. You may only pick one or the other.
Searing 40: Quiet After the Storm [Open Prompt]
Kalzasi Effort: Any.
Zaichaer Effort: Any.
Weather: Rainy. Temperate to Cool.
It has been six days since the Mists came to Kalzasi. Authorities are still assessing to determine the full extent of the damage and fallout. However, the Miststorms seems to have died down in intensity. What awaits them in this unsettling quiet after the storms? That remains to be seen.

Peace has come to Kalzasi as the nation is finally allowed to breathe. While there are still ongoing efforts to deal with the sparse few skirmishes that are left in the aftermath of the brief war with Zaichaer, Kalzasi is well equipped to handle them. Despite opposition, the Council of Elders and the broader expanse of the Assembly of Lords have voted to support the efforts to contain the rift in Zaichaer, by a slim margin. Conversely, by an overwhelming margin, both bodies have voted to end the Queen-Regent’s emergency powers with the war effort all but moot. While some argue that Zaichaer needs to be eliminated entirely, the appetite to continue the war in the face of the rift threat and looming winter seems minimal at best.
The regency is ended with the deciding vote being cast by Kon-Daizoku Aoren, First Spouse of the Daizoku of House Novalys. The Council of Elders is now deadlocked in heated debate as to the succession of the throne of Kalzasi. In an unprecedented move due to these unprecedented circumstances, the Council has chosen to open the voting up to the entirety of the Assembly of Lords with each noble house being given the opportunity to cast a single vote.
The race for the title of Fourteenth Shokaze has begun.
Off Topic
Voting for the Shokaze of Kalzasi will ultimately be open to all members of the nobility due to extenuating circumstances that the Council believes merit further input. As this is the first in-game selection of a nation’s sovereign through a constitutional process, it will be a little touch and go in order to both promote the involvement of Kalzasi’s noble class players while remaining cohesive with the setting.
Ash 1: Highlords of Kalzasi [Prompt]
Weather: Cool. Grey skies.
The first round of debates takes place within the Council Chambers of the Elder Council. The Great Houses put forth their nominations for the Shokaze’s Throne. Members of the Assembly of Lords are afforded the opportunity to question the nominees in an open forum that is moderated by the Speaker of the Council. Points of affirmation or contention are deliberated. At the end of the deliberation, members of the Assembly cast their votes via anonymous ballot. As is tradition, the Shinsei, a title and post already confirmed by the Council, automatically stands as a contender for the throne. It now falls to the broader Assembly to determine who else will be considered for the throne.
Among the nobles there are three factions.
Traditionalists. These nobles believe in maintaining the status quo in that they believe Kalzasi and the Synnekar should continue to be led by the Line of Synnar, House Novalys. With that being said, they also believe that the Seven Great Houses should continue to operate as they have for centuries with each family continuing on as they have. They currently hold a slim majority in the Assembly of Lords.
Constitutionalists. These nobles assert that the Law of Kalzasi states that all eligible Avialae of the Great Houses deserves a true chance at being seated upon the throne. They would amend the law to ensure that the outgoing House would be barred from petitioning to ascend to the throne until the next vacancy. This is to be done to ensure that the crown passes equally among the Great Houses, as was originally intended by the Founders of Kalzasi. They are only a few votes away from holding a majority among the Assembly of Lords.
Monarchists. A smaller group among the nobles of Kalzasi are those who believe that the Law needs to be changed in its entirety, allowing for an absolute Avialae monarchy that is no longer adherent to the ways of the Seven Great Houses. It would instead do away with the legislative power of the Council and the Assembly and place full Executive and Legislative power into the hands of the sovereign. They are few in number but in the wake of Zaichaer’s decline and the recent moves pulled by the Iron Queen, they have become more vocal.
Traditionalist Candidate - Shinsei Talon Alexios Novalys - Daizoku House Novalys - In Absentium: Kon-Daizoku Aoren, First Spouse
Constitutionalist Candidate - TBD, presumed Karam Senue - Daizoku House Senue
Monarchist Candidate - TBD
Ash 10: Dawnmartyrs
Weather: Cool. Intermittent Clouds.
The Dawnmartyrs make their presence known to the people of Kalzasi, revealing that they have been rebuilding in secret for a few years now. This confirms rumors that had been circulating among the populace ever since the rebirth of the Draegir of Justice, further affirming the rise in men and women who have received help among the populace. Dawnmartyrs now openly walk among the city’s populace, lending their aid where it is needed.
Ash 30: The Mad King’s Shadow [Prompt]
Weather: Cold. Rainy.
The bloody hand of Jacien Novalys and his supporters is found in the Low City as well as the Midden, sparking alarm among Kalzasi’s authorities. Questions abound whether or not the Mad King yet lives following his banishment to the Warrens.
Ash 40: Dead Rising [Open Prompt]
Weather: Cold. Grey skies.
Wraiths, Ghosts, Ghouls and Warren Spawn have become more active both within the Warrens and in areas that are not as heavily patrolled by the Sky Guard. The Dawnmartyrs have stepped up to lend their assistance but even their help still sees some of these monstrosities creep through. Bounties are put out to assist in controlling the appearance of the creatures. [This will be a continuous prompt across the season from this point.]
Ash 70: The Cycle Continues [Quest]
Weather: Frigid. Snowfall.
The Circle of Wandering in the Astralar Mountainrange has come alive with power. Scouts report that three beings have appeared atop the spire. Strange reports of people being summoned to the Circle of Wandering spread among the populace. Some of those people have returned, though not the same as they were before. Whispers abound that something terrible or something incredible awaits those who answer the summons when it comes to them. [3/3. Ash 91: Winter’s Arrival
Weather: Frigid. Heavy snowfall.
The eve of Frost brings with it chilling temperatures and heavy snowfall that is not uncommon for the coming season. In what has been a politically charged season, the Council of Elders and Assembly of Lords have elected to choose the next Shokaze in the coming Frost season. Who will reign as Kalzasi’s Fourteenth Shokaze?

The Winter Season ends, ushering in the 123rd year of the Age of Steel. However, the chill of winter still seems to be clinging to the region of Karnor, with snowfall and ice stretching on into the season. While the broader populace of Kalzasi contend with a prolonged frost, the nobles still remain preoccupied with the political matters demanding their attention. Kalzasi is set to crown its next sovereign in the renewal of Glade, ushering in a new reign and potentially a new era for the country as House Senue seems poised to take the throne. This circumstance has been met with mixed reactions both among the nobility and the common populace. Disquiet resonates among the populace, with one primary reason being its source: Talon Novalys has returned and the Draegir of Light has not been inactive since his return to his homeland.
Many wonder if there won’t be a confrontation between the two clearest contenders for the Kalzasern throne or if, perhaps, there is another way forward. Calls for unity and peaceful resolution are strong among many. Time will tell whether that is what occurs.
Glade 1: New Year Celebration [Open Prompt]
Weather: Cold. Light snowfall.
The New Year of Ransera is welcomed with growing hope for the coming of a new and more peaceful era. With the curiosity of the Eclipse still hanging in the skies of the world but the return of the Demigod of Hope and Light, the people have chosen to cast off the shadows of fear and doubt in favor of celebration. Thus begins a week of events that see the Plaza of Jeweled Arches packed with entertainment sponsored by the Great Houses and the merchants of the city. While some fear that such boisterous activity will draw unwanted attention, a combination of Sky Guard soldiers and Dawnmartyr Knights are firmly present to guard the festivities, inspiring confidence in the people’s ability to simply let go in a much-needed way.
Glade 15: Refugees [Open Prompt]
Weather: Cold. Grey skies.
House Ahtivin has put out a call for assistance to those with the means to help. The devastation of Zaichaer still has lingering effects on the populace. Refugees from the former High City of Karnor have flocked to the Low City of Kalzasi. A crisis of culture is steadily brewing wherein citizens of a still-recovering city are struggling to find their place in what was once (and to some still is) a culture viewed as the enemy. Despite the armistice that is in place, despite the assistance that Kalzasi is giving to the common people, despite the fact that Kalzasi has openly stated that it was in fact NOT responsible for the cataclysm of Zaichaer, there are those who do not see this as enough. People are cold, hungry, displaced, and struggling. They need help.
Glade 40: A Desperate Man [Quest]
Weather: Cold. Medium snowfall.
A man is thrown out of a bar. Is he too drunk? Is he deranged? Is he crazy? Or is there something more? [Please reach out to Paragon on the website via PM on the forums. Not Discord.]
Glade 60: Nice Weather…?
Weather: Cold. Light snowfall.
Concerns are arising among the Farmer’s Guild that the lingering effects of the Eclipse has affected the weather and will lead to delayed planting and growth in the fields. Their concerns do not fall on deaf ears as House Senue begins investigating the matter.

They are calling it the Long Winter. Frost has not abated and snow still falls across the Northlands. For a region of the world that had already been suffering from the fallout of devastation, this is proving to be an even greater challenge than any could have truly anticipated. But there is hope to be found amid the cold as the city pools its resources together and commits to ensuring the survival of its people in the face of hardship.
Searing 1: Winds of Change [Prompt]
Weather: Cold. Light snowfall.
The Assembly of Lords and the Elder Council of Kalzasi have made their choice. On this day, before the people of Kalzasi, the new Shokaze, First Wind of the Jewel of Karnor, will be crowned.
Searing 10: Refugees [Open Prompt]
Weather: Cold. Overcast skies.
Searing 25: Into the Deeps [Quest]
Weather: Freezing. Heavy snowfall.
The Long Winter and the lingering effects of war coupled with the refugee crisis that Kalzasi is facing has put a strain upon the reserves of food that the city stockpiles. House Senue has put out a call to those able bodied fighters and mages to help them in protecting labor parties that are mounting expeditions into the Otherwilds, the Second Deep of the Warrens. They are in need of strong people who can protect their workers so that food can be gathered, planted and harvested from the lush landscape. [0/3]
Searing 50: Dawnhold
Weather: Cold. Clear skies.
For several seasons now, the Dawnmartyr Knights have been working to assist the citizens of Kalzasi as their patron deity resides in the city. For three years they worked quietly, in secrecy for fear of incurring the Imperium’s wrath. Having discarded secrecy, they have rebuilt a stronghold in the Northlands within the reach of Kalzasi and have now openly invited worthy aspirants to join their order. This has seen a large number of the Sky Guard, which is patroned by House Novalys, flock to the citadel.
Kalzasi is entering a new period in its history. The crown has passed to a new sovereign. The people are determined, even with the odds stacked against them in what is becoming a hostile environment. Many wonder how long the Long Winter will last. Others are determined not to be swallowed by the ice and snow. But even with its trials and tribulations, Light shines upon the city and its territory and with it, Hope for a brighter tomorrow.
