His base form is that of a stone statue, crafted entirely of granite rock. He is molded into the form of a man without hair. 100% anatomically correct from head to toe. His body maintains smoothness and polish through regular maintenance and avoidance of situations dangerous to golems.
Personality
Slake is a Caste II Golem. This means that while his mental state is far from perfect, it's stable. There was some upset as he awoke to the world when created by his parent. However, when he discovered his purpose, he pursued creation of beautiful facsimiles of humanoid statues, at first to hone his craft, with the eventual goal of creating companions.
He has a deep need and desire to make connections, but is wary of male humanoids and will tend to actively avoid them. He is gullible when it comes to dealing with female humanoids, to the point of debilitating. He much prefers to recreate female statues and will avoid his reflection, as he finds his male form repulsive.
History
Slake was created by his parent, a stone golem that wished to recreate a great friend they'd remembered from their soul's previous life. The Golem, whose name Slake never learned, created Slake, sculpting him to perfection. For the first few years of his existence within the site of his parent's hermitage, Slake remained without a soul of his own. Their parent prayed to Raella every day, however, and after ten years of constant meditation and begging the deity to instill Slake with a soul, it was done.
However, unknown to their parent, Slake received a soul but the merging came with a slight imperfection. Slake was content to stay in the posture that he'd originally been sculpted to, thinking that it was a proper shape. He refused to move at all, or even speak to their parent. Their parent eventually gave up praying to Raella, but still adored Slake as a creation of its own hands. The parent spoke kind affirmations to Slake every day, and shared conversation. In this way, Slake picked up more of the language of Common, and even some of the finer points of philosophy as the parent discussed its thoughts on what their existence meant.
On Frost 35 in the year of 119, Slake finally moved for the first time. He noticed his parent wasn't there and had been absent for a long time. When at last he began his first steps, he stumbled at first. But it only took a few moments before he found his footing. He made it several meters, when he stopped stock still, noticing at the entrance to their hermitage, that the parent was combatting a group of human men who were attacking them.
They smashed the parent, and Slake felt it as he saw their parent die, shattered into bits. He froze and remained still as the men came inside. They inspected Slake, who they took to be a soulless golem statue. Seeing this as an adequate prize for their adventure, they absconded with him, bringing him to the city of Zaichaer to sell to the highest bidder.
The one who bought him was a sculptor named Helen. She was affluent enough that she could afford to bid against the others in the auction, and having purchased him, went on to bring him to her shop, transporting him along on a wagon.
He was still for a year or so more, until she began to inspect him. As she was wielding stone-shaping tools at the time, he panicked and thought she might've meant to change his form. He recoiled in fear, and thus revealed himself as awoken to her. Far from taking offense or fear from the moving statue (although Helen was shocked), Helen spoke kindly to the golem after she regained her nerve. Having not heard a kind word from anyone since before he was taken by those terrible adventurers that slayed his parent, he immediately imprinted upon her.
He began working in her shop, doing smaller tasks as she worked on her sculptures. This is how he lives to this day.
