Company: Various Reconciliators| Thoughts: Arguing bickering and the usual...| Mood: Tired, Anxious.
That morning, Tobias had grown weary when he entered the Halls of Reconciliation, he knew Richard had received mentions to get his affairs sorted before finally starting his prison sentence on the 66th; still there was no mention of any support in the area. He resumed his position at the front desk as the secretaries moved away from him as if he was plagued. He was shunned further into the darkness. More so, the unforgiving nature of Zaichaer had brought him to ruin; the past choices that he made didn’t help him either, but the real facts were hidden, broken in a cloud of ash as per usual. Tobias realised that this wasn’t an easy journey.
A female approaches Tobias. She had pure white which had been combed back, red lipstick and often doned a much more fashionable version of the reconciliator uniform. It appeared she was quite revered in the field, a Vigilant to her stature. “Ahh, Mr Zorrothy…” She spoke as she walked towards her, inspecting him like he was familiar to her. She looked at the side as she handed him a letter “There’s an assignment for you. You are meeting at Olive Grove Manor… I trust you won’t be late.” She asked with a sternness to her voice. The other aspirants furrowed their eyebrows for a moment as Tobias.
Richard walked over to the desk as he approached before standing in front of his son in the defensive manner “Vigilant Val’Atre… Enjoy your trip to Cathena, nice break I hope? I was not expecting you to be here” The female stood over the top step off Richard and looked down upon him and smiled “Oh Richard, you were always such a impresio… I heard the news though… Tragic to see you going down the darker ends though, I thought you were much better than that.” She bit back at him as she watched Richard clench his fist in anger. Tobias looked back between the two as he took his case letter and rolled his eyes.
"No wonder where I get it from, I’ll be off..." He added with a hint of disapproval.
His father winced at that comment as he watched Tobias leave the office, to the Presidium Gardens, they were quite delightful this year as the autumns wind blew in the distance as the green, yellow and ochre colours blended with the breeze; the leafs scattered around Tobias as he looked at them. Sad, wilted to the floor as so was the start of his career. A rough one as he’d recall. The week that Vigilant Jophis frightened him out of a stage, there was only one hope.
Redemption.
At the first glance, Tobias opened the letter and discovered a map inside, indicating the route to the Olive Grove Manor. He was unsure why he had been given such an assignment, but if it helped him with the first steps then he was sure to take it. It was unusual for an Aspirant to be given such a task, but proved better than the previous glares he got at the reconciliation.
The streets were packed as merchants were selling their goods and even fainting education as he walked past the Great Institute of Zaichaer; it was once where his father had taught countless lessons in various academic subjects, one including his favorite. The history of magic and why it must be held up to responsible uses in Zaichaer. However, most people didn’t agree with magic, especially people who were given their runes at the Order of Reconciliation. Tobias thought it was somewhat hypocritical, but to understand reconciliator works was to understand the scientific elements of magic.
Walking by he came to the manor itself, a nice pristine house almost looking as if it was castle like as a young Reconciliator waited outside "Oh you must be Tobias, I heard alot about you… Troublemaker I heard, well I’m gonna kick you in the balls if you start trouble, believe me. I’m Scher but call me ma’am. I heard you don’t have much manners or etiquette around these places, it’s best if I teach you them now" She laughed as she placed her hand in her pocket and brought out a pink silk handkerchief.
"Yes, Ma’am… Although I’m not quite the one for someone bringing up my past."
"Yes, well you brought that upon yourself… Follow me."
Scher opened the door and led Tobias into the house of the mansion. It was glowing with the sun peering out of each window, letting it’s light through the black and white mosaic flooring that was immaculately polished. The male sighed as he was given orders again. It appeared that he had to keep a good watch upon himself. It was him that was going to jeopardise his father’s release if he made one simple mistake, like he did last time. He knew one thing, never use magic in public unless necessary. It was magic that caused panic in Zaichaer, as one simple misunderstanding could rate a single citizen a criminal.
Tobias came into the room with another reconciliator as he nodded at Tobias "I see you’ve met the Silver Lady herself..." He laughed as he looked upon her up and down before kissing her upon the lips "Tobias, this is my fiance Jernard, we’ll probably be working with each other quite alot..." He nodded to Tobias, only in a much more possessive light as he stood over the man. He looked down upon him and crossed his arms, letting out a smirk "So you’re the troublemaker, well there will be no trouble here, understand?"
Scher rolled his eyes as she glared at Jernard; there was disapproval in her eyes with the way he was coming across. Unfriendly and yet slightly intimidating "You don’t have to size people like that, it’s not like I would cheat on you or anything, we’ve discuss this..." She said blatantly with annoyance.
Tobias sighed as he looked over at Jernard and Scher, noticing that Scher was unhappy; he knew how that felt; eventually he shook his head as he looked at the map as well as the case files. However, that poster was familiar. Madam Solange Alvare of the Myshalarai Coven. For conspiracy to commit treason upon Zaichaer. Dead or Alive. Tobias realised it was the woman that had tortured him from his childhood. He began to feel sick to his stomach as Scher inspected him "Is something wrong Tobias?" She asked with concern in her voice; it was the type of concern that had a deep caringness to it. However, Jernard smirked as he watched him.
"Yeah… No… Erm, that woman… She’s familiar, she was the one… who..." He paused for a moment.
The flashback began when he was whipped. He could feel essences of phantom pain ringing through his back of the cat-o-ninetails lashes across his back. The pain and red soreness of being flagellated was too painful to bear. Scher simply came to Jernard as he looked at her with a possessive glare, as if she was property. It wasn’t her fault that she was caring.
"That woman, she was the coven witch who brought me into her own coven… She’s evil, spineless and sadistic, infact, I need a moment." Tobias walked out as Scher knew there was something troubling him.
It was a traumatic experience itself.
The fact that seeing her face again had triggered the whole thing to come and explode again. "That man needs help..."
"He’s fine."
"Yeah well, easy for you to say for a bloke like you with no emotional radius!" She stomped off annoyed.
It appeared that Tobias had alot of preparation to do to become a true reconciliator, starting off with the route of his problem.
The trauma.
