Carrion Crown

Name: Carrion Crown

Description: A Sickly Mushroom that grows on the corpses of sentient creatures. It smells like rotting fruit and tastes similarly, most describing it as sickeningly sweet and slimy.

Size three to six inches a stalk on average.

Notable Abilities: The Carrion Crown is a mushroom with a decidedly specific palette, Only growing on the corpses of deceased sentient creatures that possess a level of knowledge associated with the civilized races.

The carrion crowns secondary ability is that the consumption of the mushroom causes those that eat it to experience the memories of the corpse that hosted the mushrooms within their dreams in the coming weeks. Most of these dreams are often the most violent and traumatic memories of the host corpse, including those of their death if it was a violent one. the other ten percent of dreams tend to reflect the greatest moments and joys of the host.

Lastly, when brewed into a tea and tempered with alcohol, the filtered concoction is a potent sleep aid that can cure almost all cases of non magical insomnia with regular ingestion.

They are also easily washed off and killed by soaps and other antibacterials.
