NAME
Name: Falbright Ore
Description:A crystalline material found near meteoric impact sights, found often in the sides of mountains with larger deposits appearing at higher altitudes. It is theorized this highly reactive material comes from the sky but burns up nearly entirely before hitting the ground, places at higher elevations tend to intercept the deposits before they can fully immolate.
Size Deposits can measure in mere pounds to metric tons, depending on where they are found.
Notable Abilities: This reactive material is relatively soft and easily reduced to powder once its refined from the slag form its often found in, soft and light like talcum powder. Despite its nature seemingly being like that of stone rather than metal its extremely magnetic, the dust from the refining process often clings to any metallic objects it comes near.
Falbright powder is extremely reactive to active magic, absorbing active magic applied to it before seemingly melting away into a silvery vapor.
Metallurgists have discovered that creating an alloy from the Falbright ore and other soft metals ie (Lead, aluminum silver and gold) that they can create a reactive metal that can absorb slightly more active magic before evaporating in much the same way raw Falbright ore does.
While it has yet to be used for such, it is theorized a layering of a Falbright derived alloy could create a magical buffer for metals and arms alike.
Threat level Low
Where to Find: Meteorite impact sites, the higher the altitude the more common.
Reasons to interact Alchemy or metallurgy
Recommended Stats for encounters at least expert metallurgy or related skills to make a usable alloy from Falbright ore.
While price is hard to nail on such a commodity it is often found to correlate with the price of gold, often being said to be worth five times its weight in gold quite literally.
