Crucial!
Beyond the point of having been trusted to stay, Thysbae hadn’t really anticipated being given such a major job. Crucial; Franky had used the word with exactness and authority. And Bae couldn’t very disappoint. It was with a nod he accepted these orders, brain already sorting out what it was that he needed to do. Small jobs were usually the sort of things that would be given to him. Minor tasks to keep him busy from…well, Bae would not understand it would be to keep him from getting any particular sort of trouble, but —
All the same: this was a really big deal, now wasn’t it? His ears flopped and tail flicked with excitement. Until he realized that this big deal would mean him going outside. The first blast had nearly knocked him off his feet, sent him stumbling back into the nearest wall while he steadied himself. That echo of..screaming — he couldn’t be sure, mostly didn’t want to be sure — in his ears dying down quickly. Faster still with the second blast that rocked the Gobbler.
And maybe now it had set in that he would have to go outside. Into the mists that he could see through the windows now. A thick fog that he probably wouldn’t be able to see past his hand. He swallowed, nodded to himself as he stood by the door. When had he walked down here? The clop of his hooves had been lost to him the movement of others and the sudden onset of stress. A flash of heat coursing through him before he pushed through the door and ran.
Hoof beats to match heartbeats. An echo of clopping as he went. Not that far a distance, but still. Still.
He — Thys pulled open the door to the theater, shutting it promptly behind him. Jaw clenched.
Goodness, what had he gotten himself into?
